Fairer society is a nice phrase, I've yet to see anyone display how that is achieved other than State intervention and State intervention is massively expensive and fails 99 times out 100.

The State is people, people have opinions, these people make decisions based on their opinions, which then in turn leads to favouritism based on their opinions and we start the merry go round again with people feeling wronged because the State invests money in central London, or The North, or rural Scotland etc...

It's never ending.

We as individuals can be good people, be good to ourselves and do good in our communities, that will make for a fairer society then spending billions on more resources to make a bigger Govt and employing career politicians who are only interested in lining their own pockets.

There are lots of measures to implement to enforce a fairer society, and yes, it has to be state-driven. Society is full of lazy sponging ****s blaming everyone else for their failures in life, we can't leave it up to the individual.

Social housing, higher minimum wage, communally owned services like water/leccy/gas, decent public infrastructure and transport, decriminalising drugs, improving education and training available, driving investment in manufacturing and jobs for people that couldn't be arsed, etc...

All is possible, probably utopian, but **** it, if I can't hope for a better future then what's the ****ing point <cheers>

The State is inefficient, bloated and full of the sponging, lazy oafs you describe who are only interested in filling their own pockets at the public's expense.

You can leave it to the individual and liberty is all about individualism. You want a better life then make it better.

Social housing has been shambolic since the war. Glasgow flattened it slums only to build new slums which in turn breeds more violence and socio-economic problems.
Minimum wage is another State-manufactured fallacy. Labour introduced the minimum wage, watched Newsnight last week and Andy Burnham saying min. wage is not enough and we need a "living wage"... one presumes that soon, living wage won't be enough and then what then...

Anyway, luchtime for me - got a gammon chit here. (sangwich to you Nigel pooves)

There is no such thing as racism towards white people, the most you can hope for in this woke era is being discriminated against but because white people are meant to have either caused slavery or had it good for all these years because of slavery you cannot be racially abused when called any derogatory names for white people, it is just being shouted at by people who don't like you.

You need to be part of a protected minority to claim racial discrimination so the Irish constantly being referred to as stupid would count as racist abuse but calling someone English a gammon isn't.

Less government and low taxes is the fairest system to take people out of poverty, absolutely no point making a higher minimum wage only to tax people higher it's a scam .

8 million workers currently furloughed, the NHS at the front of everyone’s minds, and you think small government and lower taxes are the answer? Really?

The Mayor of Mineapolis was on TV weeping and kneeling against Keith Floyd's coffin to show his wokeness ,he then attended a rally where a big gobby black woman demanded he disband the police force and when he said he didn't have the authority the crowd booed him and told him to **** off so he sulked away like a child head down.

I saw some footage of police washing the feet of BLM ptotestors and a police chief laying on his belly in submission.

No matter how many times they apologise or bend the knee they demand more and more .

Putin and the CCP must be pissing themselves at the state of America.

Yes I also don't believe the lockdown made any difference to the death rate and we should have not bothered.

You support the tens of thousands of people protesting in the last week though yeah ?
