Watched some highlights of that match the other day. Bobby Charlton was 28, he looked as old then as he does now!
 
Hull should have staged some games in that tournament but Harold Needler started his ground mods two years too late.

The footballing hotbed of Middlesborough got to stage 3 games, one watched by only 15,887, N Korea v Italy watched by 18 727 and Soviet Union - N Korea watched by 22, 568.

Don't forget that North Korea BEAT Italy in that match.

I love the fact that North Korea, of all countries, really should've got to a World Cup Semi Final.

I remember cheering on North Korea when watching their matches live on TV. (I was 10).

I don't remember a crowd larger that 40, 231 (day after Boxing day against Millwall in Dec 65) throughout the 60's. In fact, did we ever have one higher @ BP after that ?

Wasn't capacity reduced to 35k-ish after the new South Stand was built?
