Polls out today show approval for the government's handling of the pandemic at 34%, with 47% disapproving. I find it bewildering that anyone at all could approve, but I suppose the daily party political broadcasts continue to have some brainwashing effect. The Observer is calling today for an urgent public enquiry, to be carried out by a cross-party committee of senior parliamentary backbenchers and focused on producing practical recommendations for the autumn. Johnson's government has lost the Coronavirus plot and must be held to account.
It beggars belief people are still supporting the government on this. We've had a toxic mix of incompetence and lies and now the public have given up on lockdown because the government have. I wonder if the Cummings fiasco brought forward some of the easing measures. I wish they would recognise how the public have reacted and put the breaks on. If we have regions with an R rate over 1 we should still be in lockdown not looking at more easing measures.
Today is an amazing day that I never thought would come......finally been able to say to the twins.. “Bed early tonight boys, it’s a school day tomorrow”
18 new cases in Scotland and no deaths in the last 24 hours. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-52956223 However, Scottish government are still reluctant to rush into easing the lockdown (rightly so IMO). Unfortunately I think this will change after the protests in Glasgow and Edinburgh over the weekend. I wouldn’t worry Beth, we’re heading for civil war anyway. Im beginning to think 2020 is the end of days
Left v Right mate.......All starting next week so book your front row seats. The plan of the elite is coming to pass, the working class will eat itself
Watching some of the videos going round it could even be Black v White. I’m ****ed whichever one it is.
Under Lame Dick the Met have become a branch of the Social Services, f*ck knows how many are going to be added to the Covid totals with what is happening and what is going to happen. The Government, the Mayor and the Police have basically abdicated their responsibilities to a band of third rate student activists...
Jolly d, to get back on topic, despite it being undeniably, irrefutably true that having a stronger lockdown imposed earlier would have saved lives, Matt Hancock says the government made ‘the right decisions at the right time’. The big question is, how did Matt Hancock get the severe brain injury he is obviously stuttering from, or was he born this way?
