Let me put it another way, let's say a parent was giving their two young children heroin and one overdosed and died.

Would you say that oh they've been punished now and have probably learnt their lesson? Or that actually, they've proven that they're ****ing irresponsible parents and should be treated as such?

Absolutely not comparable <laugh>

I don't think they should have had their children taken away because of one terrible decision. One which I hasten to add several other parents have also made regularly prior to that incident. No doubt some still do. I completely disagree what they did as parents, incredibly selfish. But using that to take their kids away seems completely counter-productive to me. Assuming those kids are loved and cared for, why would taken them away from their natural parents who they love help them?

Nah this is just pious bullshit from people in my opinion. They did wrong in most normal peoples eyes, and paid the ultimate price. To then punish their other children as a result I find bizarre. Unless there is some existing trend of bad parenting etc I can't see what is achieved except making a load of judgey people feel warm.

Unless a body turns up we will never know

They have the killer... they're putting things together. They clearly know they have him, but proving it is another thing. This is the appeal for information from the people that know this monster. Hopefully they get plenty of information.. surely they will given he worked and sold drugs ... he will have been well known to people I should think

I'm not slating anyone mate I'm just saying I believe losing their child is punishment enough .

I'm not poirot, but I think I was on the right path here
Clarence Mitchell, who has represented the family since Madeleine went missing, said that in 13 years he couldn't "recall an instance when the police had been so specific about an individual".

He told BBC Breakfast: "Of all the thousands of leads and potential suspects that have been mentioned in the past, there has never been something as clear cut as that from not just one, but three police forces."

If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but given this guys a convicted sexual predator I feel at ease with pointing the finger at him tbh

I've always blamed the parents for their mistake mate, but I never felt at ease saying they murdered her..
To back this up they have released two phones numbers and pictures of two vehicles. They have released a lot more info than they have in the past. They know more than they are letting on. They just need more evidence.

It’s possible the German chap am has come clean on it. Told them things that only the suspected person would know. Could even implicate a friend or something. Maybe they had dna of an unknown person from 13 years ago. He’s said look I was involved and they checked and it’s his.

The police could not run the risk of falsely accusing someone in a case of this magnitude 13 years on.

They know something!

All this **** assuming they've been given middle class privilege too is a load of ****e. There is no way of knowing what your average or low income family would have seen happen in that situ - I'd suggest though its more than likely they'd have kept their kids too and just had to suffer the same, live with knowledge you are responsible for the disappearance of your own child. Having seen how social services work in situations where a decision is needed on housing of children through work, every case is different and there is absolutely no consistency to this at all. I'd imagine more poor families do have kids taken away from them more often, largely down to finance. If you are struggling to give the child something which doesn't cost money, and/or making terrible decisions which put your child in danger, I would imagine struggling to support them financially is a final whammy for the courts/social services.

honestly guys.

convicted child rapist of young girl working in area and burgling hotels.

two vehicles one changed the ownership of the day after she went missing .. why on earth would he do that I wonder.

if it's it this guy I will try up my own genitals and wear them as a necklace
