I can't account for what goes on in other people's heads. <ok>

of course you can't, although you ought to have plenty of space in your head, after HiaG gave up his tenancy.

I can't help it, I've never been two faced, I may change my opinions, but I've always said how I see it at the time, sometimes I'm wrong, ocassionaly I'm right, BUT...

I'll always take my chances on being wrong in the first instance. Nowt gained by trying to save face.

You confuse confirmed cases with the estimated total. You should probably read their report and understand how the estimate was reached.

Even at the confirmed cases it’s more than 10,000 a week NEW cases, so you were wrong anyway.

How am I wrong, it's not me stating it's that figure A DAY.

300000 is total, not currently infected.

For every new infection, others are recovering.

Like I said, i'm on a tracker app that was suggested to me by a GP mate and it shows rates of current infection, not a cumulative amount. It's not 10000 a day, which was what i flagged up as bullshit.

See above.

And you went back and edited your post, which originally said there wasn’t 10,000 cases, let alone per day. Which you obviously realised was bollocks so you went back an edited it to 100,000 which made the sentence make no sense, as no one was claiming 100,000 cases per day........

You should have read the report. As it clearly states the estimated total of new cases per week in England alone is 54,000.

It doesn't say that at all, that's a report from 11th to 24th of May.

It's June 3rd.

LL stated there are currently up to 10000 new infections a day. I said that's not the case. (* based on rates of infection given daily on this tracker app*)

I hope we're all clear now?

Thanks.

* edited to explain where I got my info.

I went back and edited a typo, the 100000 is a currently infected estimate. The 300000+ is total who have been infected. (some have in fact recovered maybe?)

I never claimed anyone was saying 100000 a day, I clearly said total.

No he didn’t, his post said IF it was true that there were between 5-10,000 new cases per day.

The report was for England only and had 54,000 new cases per week, which makes 10,000 per day for the U.K. not sound far fetched. Yes it’s using data from up to May 24th, but even its halved since, it’d still be a massive number of new infections, which was his point.

That’s clearly bollocks, as your post said we didn’t have 10,000 cases, let alone per day. The edit made that number 100,000, which made the ‘let alone per day’ make zero sense.

Lets be honest, our lockdown was piss poor compared to other countries. The delay and failure to mandate masks are the two that stand out most.

If it's true we are still at 5-10,000 infections per day then the tracing procedures have no chance of keeping up with the spread. The numbers need to be in the hundreds before some form of normality can safely resume.
