Furious anti-EU protests erupt in Rome and Milan demanding Italy QUIT the eurozone

FURIOUS protesters took to the streets in Milan and Rome on Saturday, demanding the immediate resignation of the Government as well as an immediate exit from the eurozone.

lol

I'm not really seeing much new here, and people are probably still holding bad feeling after the initial outbreak of the virus. Although I always thought Italy wanted to come out the monetary side of things, rather than the EU itself. Surely if they felt that strong about the EU, then Salvini would have not been ousted, but trying to understand an Italian government is about as complex as it can get, not forgetting I doubt Italy have two cents to rub together!

Are they? I'm not watching.

Did you know that for the last 10 days they've stopped declaring the number of people being tested. I didn't until this morning.

I think they said there was something like 111 deaths, that's not an exact figure by me, but the SKY reporter had highlighted an adjustment that didn't account for an additional 400 deaths within the figures, confused. com ...and no I didn't know in answer to your question.

Have you read the article, I liked this bit

Get us through,' they were reported as shouting by La Repubblica. Police then used pepper spray to disperse the crowd of around 70 protestors according to police reports.

Now if I was a cynic, I'd say the government defo would not want to show an increase of 500+ deaths today, but as I'm not a cynic, I'll sit quietly in the corner.

I don’t see why they can’t just give both numbers. “111 new deaths, the earliest of which was May 29th plus a further 400 from April 1st-May 20th” or something, preferably using the real numbers which I can’t be bothered to scroll up and check.

If someone as they claim are being open about the figures, you would. My guess is having now lifted measures, they seem to be shy of the additional 400, which at least is being dishonest. But I plan on continuing social distancing measures, albeit I have to self isolate at the moment anyway, but if I see any crowded places that I need to go to, I will just turn back around and go away. simply because I'm not convinced this is the end of it.

it's not the end, merely the end of the beginning imo.

Who really knows, it's a virus that's inherently unpredictable and that we can't currently control other than trying to stay away from anyone who has it even though plenty of people have it and don't know they have it <laugh> ... it might go away, it might spread exponentially again in future, the smart money would say something in the middle, but as I say, who knows ?!

Personally I will just go with the excess death figures .
Thetes nothing else around to suggest it's anything else

Yeah agreed and they’re horrific but despite being the figures we were told were the most important at the start of all this they receive remarkably little attention now at the briefings.

Italy is a constant mess politically and financially .
Theyve had about 30 Prime Ministers in 40 years .
