I've stayed close to here before. Near the Blue Mountains in Jamaica but I'm definitely going to stay with Mokko for a couple of weeks. Taking my son too so he gets to see his nan etc.

Cheap as anything. Flights is the only real expense as it's about $30 a night on air bnb.

Probably some on here would rather walk across hot coals but for me its literally the perfect get away/chill spot.

Anyone thinking of going abroad once this **** is over?

Anyway a little tour of where I'm going. Theres a whole YouTube channel called Ras Kitchen if you want to see more.

I'm going to wait until October half term next year. I imagine every resort will be full this year and next summer.

Booked a villa in Kalkan in Turkey at end of September for me and Mrs G4E and also all the kids and their partners.
Been to Turkey a few times and fingers crossed that all the virus **** has passed.

my lads jaunt to spend a week watching the Euros has been rolled over to next year, so now have leave booked and expect the Mrs to find some decorating for me to do :(

Hoping to get to South-West France again... once we are at the Farmhouse it's just us and a swimming pool (and now a pizza oven) so easy to continue social isolation ... but who knows?

I’m taking the Mrs and bairns to Jamaica, she’s never been and I love the place. Might see you there bruv <cheers>

I haven’t booked anything

we had this chat not long ago

so should I book some thing now?

I’ll go to Jamaica with ya if y want

I know easyjet were forecasting that things will not be back to normal until 2023. Hence why they were making 30% of their employees redundant, and while the 14 day measures are in place, I can't see mass hoardes of people travelling this year.

I doubt I’ll be flying anywhere this year unfortunately. I’d like to get over to Portugal before the season ends, but I’m not sure I’d want to risk the air travel, but things might change in terms of the infection rates, so we’ll see.

How much is eurotunnel?

Do you own a place out there?

... belongs to the missus' aunt ... they bought it to retire to about 5 years ago but haven't yet gone ... so family use it throughout the summer months ... converted farmhouse with 4 bedrooms ... here you go ...

Looks lovely. They rent it to the general public as well? That said the thought of just being at a villa with the mrs is merely an extension of lockdown.

The aunt is one of 6 sisters so it tends to get booked up each year ... but they may start running it more as a business once they have retired as they may need a regular, or supplementary income ... we pay mates rates so it is a bit of a bargain ... use it as a base for the midi-pyrenees... one of the most beautiful areas of France ...

I genuinely have no idea what to do about a holiday. I generally hate staying in hotels as it means having to deal with irritating people and the thought of a villa is no different to now just with a pool. I normally crave the solitude of a villa holiday as need to relax without other people pissing me off.

I can use my sisters villa in Spain but it’s a bit of a jaunt in the car.

The ideal holiday right now would be some sort of historic city in Croatia or something with interesting things to see. But then you have the issue of crowds.

will probably end up doing **** all as what I’d like to do poses the highest risk. I don’t think i will go anywhere until there is a vaccine.

I think one of the casualties of corona will be cheap air travel. It’s been arguably too cheap for years in a hugely competitive market. Airlines are going to massively slim down, remove many routes, cut down on frequency of flights and seek to operate their reduced operations profitably.

To counter that though I think many resorts will offer cheap deals to get people back. I read an article the other day that hotels in Cancun are offering two free nights per 2 nights booked.

I think a lot of Spanish resorts will drop the price of booze as well to entice the Brits over there.
