... HAWAY!

Even if you don't usually watch it, come on, you should make sure you sit down with your kids and watch.

There's nothing more important than the natural world and the sheer joy & beauty it produces.

If your kids never learn another thing let them discover a love of nature ...

... it's nectar to the soul and gratifying how many people have turned to nature in a time of crisis.

My kids are past the stage of watching TV with mam & dad.
Any way I've been doing my own Spring / Summer watch over the last few weeks

This is Mr Heron in the local park

My back garden is a bit of a training ground for a family of blackbirds. Woke up this morning to find ma and da showing a baba how to fly. Scuttling around the garden, then they hid it in a bush and went off.

Tonight a pair of magpies have been hanging about and the dad has been chasing them off for about 4hrs. ****ers. I love the blackbirds, they've been here with me for years.

Anyway aye, I love the birds but hate the mags, it's just like normal.

Get your gun Joe... You are allowed by law to rid the land of magpies

Hmmm, I didn't realise that I'm allowed to do that, but I'll definitely protect the Blackbirds. The mags sound like they've been out already today judging by the mother blackbird's alarm call.

The farmer, in the big fields around us, is baling straw at the moment which is disturbing mice, rabbits, birds, etc.

I was working outside earlier and noticed the birds of prey are taking advantage. There was a black winged kite being chased away by two larger birds, red kites I think ...

... the aerial display was like watching a WW2 dogfight, absolutely incredible.
