"If you have children, keep following this advice to the best of your ability, however, we are aware that not all these measures will be possible."
Do you think he followed that Goldy? He didnt notify his boss (although its debatable who's boss of who). He didnt try access any help locally he didnt even try. He himself was well and could look after his own child. You're really letting yourself down mate

It relates to parents who have or may be going down with the virus. It's based on the tenet that the welfare of the child is paramount

It's tenuous and he had relatives closer that wouldn't involve the long drive and the potential to spread it to a different area. Anyway like I've said the truth doesn't matter, the public won't care if there is a get out of jail free card if you dig deep enough, it's emotive, black and white, they see they weren't allowed to do x, y and z but those in power are able to twist things to suit their agenda. Which is rather ironic as the government have campaigned on emotion rather than facts.

We can't take this any further, Bob. As I said to Stainsey, people do turn to their family in time of crisis. And it was a crisis. He was well? There was a huge likelihood that he would go down with the virus if his wife did. And he did

What relatives were those?

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, Stainsey. I think in time of crisis people turn to their supportive family.

He's on thin ice over the castle but I'd surprised if this doesn't blow over now. Interestingly, it's the Daily Mail that is still gunning for him

Yeah it’ll all blow over soon enough.....probably when Abbott gets a sum wrong or Starmer wishes people a ‘happy Eid’

Can you prove that he had the virus Goldy as you state? He said hes never been tested. At no point was any childcare needed. A wasted journey, totally unnecessary, done more harm than good to this country, damaged the governments credibility etc etc. Correct decision? I would be fuming even more if I was a Tory, not defending something with more lies!

Bob, no one but you have suggested that he didn't have the virus. Even the Guardian and the Mirror haven't suggested that, have they?

It saddens me the damage one man has done to this country. It saddens me that lies and deceit govern the people. It saddens me more so that people accept this and even defend it. This countries society is being set an example, one of immoral, corrupt behaviours. How do you educate children to be honest, trustworthy, caring when the opposite is the constant message received.

Assumptions and suggestions. **** me you're clutching at straws. Nobody knows if he had the virus as hes never been tested. You cant even debate that mate.

There was no crisis, there was no emergency. There was a nice place to go for a week and there was a lovely day out to be had near the castle. Nice one Dom. The economy has been ruined for nothing!

Michael Gove: Cummings was trying to limit spread of virus with 260-mile drive to Durham
Can someone please explain to me how isolating in ones house is more likely to spread a possible infection than driving 260 miles to another part of the country, then visiting a hospital, along with going for a walk, along with a day out to a castle. Or am I just thick and misunderstand.

Yes, because the media have been all over this like a rash. If there was a scintilla of a question whether he left work and faked having the virus, don't you think they'd be onto that fast?
I'm not saying he faked having the virus. I'm saying he faked his reasons for going to see his family when nobody else was allowed to.
