You obviously haven't paid much attention to this thread then there's been loads. Yes she made a couple of mistakes with numbers and there were loads of memes accusing her of being thick, some were seriously questioning her mental faculties. Abbott is a seriously intelligent woman, abet scatty at times, who has accomplished so much in her life despite lacking the advantages afforded to a lot of others. I found it comical and slapped down a couple of people on my facebook that would continually mocked her despite them being far less intelligent and accomplishing a fraction of what this woman has done, despite the scatty mistakes this woman should be held up as a role model to a lot, especially young women.
FFS Bob, are you being deliberately awkward?! I've said it was "in the event of an emergency". Don't forget people die from this virus. Boris was in ICU. If Cummings and his wife were both on ventilators in hospital, then Cumming's young relatives could see to the four year old child's welfare. It was insurance
The public have had plenty of exposure to her. She was regularly on Question Time. I don't think they have a high opinion of her. That interview with Ferrari was a nightmare, and she has done little since to persuade people it was an aberration. Starmer can't have much faith, he's kicked her off the shadow cabinet
But they werent Goldy. It's not my fault that your argument is weak. 'In the event of an emergency' what was the emergency? It's a simple question mate
They literally spread the virus to the point one of them needed a hospital 260 miles from their house. The exact thing we weren’t meant to do.
This just leads for people to make excuses for anything, my eldest has anxiety issues so basically I could have done what I wanted, it's a crock especially as he had relatives much closer to home.
Read that BBC article I put up ,Bob. There's wide discretion if parents are or may become incapacitated through the virus
The media and social media campaign ruined her if someone is targeted that is pretty much it for them, Starmer had no choice although I believe Abbott is choosing to play a lower profile role anyway. Cummings is about to find out how if the media turn on you, you are pretty much done. This isn't going away anytime soon and every move he makes will be scrutinized
It certainly does. Stay at home. Isolate, try find help locally, tell your boss etc etc. Cumming was well, he wasnt poorly. So he disobeyed the guidelines.
It relates to parents who have or may be going down with the virus. It's based on the tenet that the welfare of the child is paramount
I assume that all my household will get this virus so I'm going on a 260 mile journey to see a castle and for care that i wont need.
With respect Goldie.....that’s absolute bollox. Most, if not all would use friends of others to help out if no relative was available....I’m absolutely certain NONE would make that kind of journey........but hey ho, as I said to Turkish, we ain’t gonna change each other’s minds.......I and most others think he’s a ly8ng **** and taking us all for a ride.
"If you have children, keep following this advice to the best of your ability, however, we are aware that not all these measures will be possible."
Government advice for households where one or more members have coronavirus symptoms is simple - stay at home. If you have children, keep following this advice to the best of your ability, however, we are aware that not all these measures will be possible." Where does it say, if you assume you will get the virus, travel 260 miles away?
We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, Stainsey. I think in time of crisis people turn to their supportive family. He's on thin ice over the castle but I'd surprised if this doesn't blow over now. Interestingly, it's the Daily Mail that is still gunning for him
