Looking at the League table, I can't see anything other than a resounding vote to curtail the season. Two of the teams in the relegation zone are way adrift, so will probably cut their losses, so only Tranmere will vote to continue. Oxford, Pompey and Fleetwood might think they've got a shout of automatic promotion, so they could vote to play on, along with us and Posh. Maybe Donny and Ipswich too. Wycombe will be over the moon to make the play offs, so I can't see them voting to continue. So I make that 8 out of 23. Another season in League One beckons. We can only hope that this forces Donald's hand, or we're ****ed!
As long as we still have a chance of promotion I'm happy as we had a chance before COVID so it's only fair. If we **** it up which tbh I'm expecting then fair dos
Any of those teams that vote to curtail the league should pay back all season ticket money. Imo even to the teams that voted to play it out, they would certainly be giving a different vote if that was the case. And whilst I’m ranting next season decline all away tickets Against the greedy no marks, see how survival is helped without our big travelling support. Aye I’m not happy, don’t get me started on the lying incumbents destroying the club.
So, no play off extension, but it will be a lot easier to get support for it continuing in our league now. 3 teams from relegation places, plus the 11 or so who could still make playoffs exceeds 51% of a 23 team vote. I think this will see it played out.
Never thought I would live to see my team in the 3rd tier of the football pyramid for 3 seasons....Its utterly depressing. The only light at the end of the tunnel is the potential to get rid of this southern chancer who owns the club and pray we get a group of guys who have ambition and the cash to back it up.
There’s still this Bolton fiasco as well, results against them should be removed they were not ****ing even.
Hope I'm wrong mate, but as I've said earlier, two of those teams in the relegation zone are way adrift,so I think they will cut their losses. Wycombe will vote to end it too imo, and the top two will automatically go up, so they won't vote to continue. Quite a few from Wimbledon up over will vote to stop.
Aye it’s going to be tight. Bolton results should be removed though if they are talking about integrity.
I agree with you, but take the north/south chip off your shoulder. A chancer, possibly, but it doesn’t matter where he’s from. And Oxfordshire isn’t really southern in the big scheme of things.
I quite agree. If the EFL had treated them like they treated poor Bury, we'd be in the play offs at least. However, just getting 2 draws against Bolton isn't good enough, and our away form has been poor all season long. We've probably got what we deserve.
Whilst I agree we’ve been a shambles, it’s a fact that we’d be top 6 without their results. It’s a shambles regardless of our shortcomings. Us and Peterborough would be top 6, Wycombe were no way getting in there.
It's where we are now, a nothing club in the football world , another relegation in the next few years wouldn't surprise or be as unthinkable as it would have been 5 years ago
That long probably this year If the season starts up again this is the longest undefeated we’ve gone for ages
Enough is enough now. The longer they delay a vote the less chance there is of finishing the season on time. Either draw a line under it or get the votes in by end of this week. If it's to go ahead, don't go begging the Premier League for money, ****ing demand it! Take a percentage off each teams final proceeds to help with testing. Them ****ers can afford it and if they disagree then it goes to show they truly don't give a **** about anything else other than themselves.
Which is precisely why they will vote to stop the season. At least they would get a crack at promotion that way.
Whilst I agree with the thought process, we can’t demand anything from the PL. Its not even the same league, it’s FA not EFL, we have no claims on their money. Splitting the leagues was madness, the FA have offered to switch to a joint board previously and the EFL weren’t having it, asked for far too much back.
It we end up here next season with a salary cap it would be beyond a joke. I think a good start would be away game protests as that will make other clubs think also. Bet they love us here with the revenue our amazing away support brings.
Oh aye, League One clubs love us being there, not so much the EFL they’d be delighted for us to be in the Championship.
