Definitely, you dont want a big drop in quality, but also playing style. I'm not overjoyed with the thought of matip for a prolonged period, not because of his performance because he has impressed. But more because we need to drop off because we lose Joe's pace.

I like a settled CB partnership, with a first choice keeper sat behind them. Its the two positions that I dont think benefit from rotation.
I fully agree about having a settled CB partnership. I think we need another top level player in that position though. We're the best team in the world atm, we can't afford to rest on our laurels.

All things being equal and football does actually get played again in the same format - even though I'm not sure about European football - we still need to plan for it happening. That means a lot of games. Players will need to be rested which is essential in the current state of things, rather than seeing it as rotation for the sake of it.

True, and I know my unadulterated love for Joe shines through, I just dont want us doing a Chelsea and having a really promising player that get ****ed off because weve spent a fortune on someone who then must play because of his price tag.

Best case scenario for me is keeping matip and one if the younger lads making strides. My hope for Hoever to come through . He looks good, but a touch light at the minute maybe

3rd best according to most charts, just behind Bayern and PSG but slightly above Barca and Madrid.

Still good though <ok>

I love Joe too. I'm looking at being kick ass good. If you can keep them all happy, have as many heavyweights as you can handle.

Yep, if they are on Sky i will watch them <ok>

I like football and will watch any professional game.
Was curious because I couldn't tell you anything about utd players other than a few of their names <laugh>

I'm guessing that your love of football means you've been eagerly awaiting it's return.

Yes and no, I have seen the "highlights" of Dortmund's game (couldn't get a single stream to work and only have Sky), it didn't look or feel real and two of the goals were a complete joke.
If the PL is the same i just might not bother watching.

How much Bundesliga do you normally watch to compare it with?

Don't you think in extreme times there needs to be a bit of give and take. I think they should be applauded for getting up and getting on with it. Actually earning the money they're being paid and giving the nation and the rest of the football world some hope that things will get back to normal. A tentative first step while keeping fans safe at home. If you watch football on the tv to watch the fans, you're watching the wrong part of it. The actual football was no different from a first game back of a new season.

Very little to be fair, i used to watch a **** lot of La Liga when Sky had the rights though.
I get what you are saying about first game back but there just wasn't any competitive feel at all to the game. Maybe it will improve, maybe the PL will be better but i have serious doubts.

Funny this, but I wonder if after the first few minutes it was much different for them.

Yes on one hand you get fierce crowds baying for every descion, screaming and shouting and singing for 90 minutes.

But more and more often the football is watched like a film, people sat quite contentedly recording the game through there phones with little emotion.

Even the lower leagues have gentrified some what. It's not like it was.

Your coming toward the arse end of the season where most players suddenly go on holiday, regardless of the fact they are still stood on a football pitch.

You'll still get the odd hum dinger out of nowhere but most are drab affairs, 10th v 11th nothing to play for, nobody is arsed.

The 2 month lay off wont help, you'll be looking at the relegation candidates to put in some effort, but they are relegation candidates for a reason.

And the clubs fighting for the championship, but looking at Dortmund and Bayern's opponents they are not the greatest of quality and the effort wasnt there.

Some people moaning because footballers are getting paid a fortune to sit at home then moan when they go back to work because it's a substandard product.

Usual caveats apply about health coming first - If Liverpool's first game back was on a bit of waste land in the middle of nowhere I'd be like a kid in a sweet shop with excitement. I can't wait to see them again. Watching them has become a big part of my life, moreso since retiring. I absolutely love this team and manager.

Mustafa Dogru, the agent of Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu has admitted that there are clubs interested in signing his client this summer, despite the ongoing global events which are affecting the finances of football clubs all over the world.
Soyuncu has emerged as a star at Leicester this season following the departure of Harry Maguire to Manchester United and as such, it seems like a few clubs are interested in signing him.

Maybe clubs should take the Man Utd approach and play crowd noise through the sound system? They could put dummies on seats too <whistle>
