Former England boss Capello was impressed by Haaland's performance at the weekend, telling Sky Sports Italia that the 19-year-old would be an "ideal" signing - but for United's fierce rivals Liverpool.

According to Capello, Haaland's pace, powerful frame and counter-attacking ability would suit the Premier League leaders.

And given he is already one of Europe's top forwards, Haaland has been tipped by Capello to get even better under Jurgen Klopp's guidance.

United or Real had better make that move quickly if that's the case...

I said we should have gone for both Minamino and Haaland. I trust Klopp knows what he's doing better than me though. Maybe he doesn't fancy Haaland so I'm not expecting him to go for him now. Main targets I believe are Werner and possibly Koulibaly. Imagine Koulibaly and Van Dijk together <cool>

Theres no doubt that haaland looks a good striker, but I'm not sure hed fit into our team. Hes very similar to kane. A big unit upfront, doesnt move about alot, not much pace but can finish fantastically well.

It would be a huge change from having Bobby upfront.

I agree a great target man, but the team has to play to suit him, and I don't think we do at present.

I'm amazed spurs didn't go in for him. Hed be a perfect replacement for kane, or even utd.

You could quite happily build your team around d him and get results. I'm not sure how.much he cost, but it would be worth it.

He only went to Dortmund in January didn't he? Don't know if any PL clubs were in for him but I think they will be in the future. Don't expect any of them to be us.

Werner maybe, suspect either him, Havertz or Sandro will join. Maybe two of them but Sancho will be expensive so the former two if more than one.

Not a chance we'll be in for Koulibaly; he'll be 29 in June and cost a fortune. I think we will be after a CB though because Lovren and maybe Matip will go.

Just had a brief look through. Cost Dortmund 22m euros but they had to pay his agent 10 million on top.

Looks like he had a fair few after him, but the contract is heavily weighted in favour of the player or more accurately the agent.

% of future sell on fees and minimum release clauses all put in to give the agent a bigger pay out.

They really are a blight on the game.

That’s the reason United walked away from a deal for him.

For the CB positions I wouldn't be looking at anybody who would come in an expect to be first choice over Joe. If we went out and spent millions on koulibaly, I could see him being a bit pissed off.

Apparently so, 20 million for someone of his talent and promise is an absolute steal, but looking at the details the only real winner is raoila (sp) Dortmund will get shafted when he moves on.

Raiola is a maggot, but the games authorities continue to allow him to twist and bend the rules.

Haaland will be at Madrid or Barca within 12 months, as he’ll place him there.

It's been said that Gomez is injury prone, not sure if I agree. Although he's had injuries, the last one was a broken leg so doesn't exactly fit with being injury prone. Depends if the medical staff think his injury history is worth having Koulibaly with Gomez still slotting in and out. We keep saying we need really strong options in all positions. Gomez is one of those who is the now and the future, like Trent. Koulibaly is a player who is at his peak who Gomez can learn from. I think Klopp is good at managing expectations so trust him to handle it to keep everyone happy.

Koulibaly is a great replacement for Lovren and decent back up to Gomez

Koulibaly isn't going to be anybody's back up . He could play evens and Joe play odds though, that's a thought. In any event I'm happy with our CB pairing. Koulibaly would be a nice problem. Not sure who we've got coming through in the position.

Not a automatic first choice no, but we'r shouldn't be paying a backup either. They should be good enough to fight with Gomez (not in the Sterling sense) for a starting spot.

Definitely, you dont want a big drop in quality, but also playing style. I'm not overjoyed with the thought of matip for a prolonged period, not because of his performance because he has impressed. But more because we need to drop off because we lose Joe's pace.

I like a settled CB partnership, with a first choice keeper sat behind them. Its the two positions that I dont think benefit from rotation.

Hes been unlucky with injuries. I think hes had 2 longer term rather than alot of little niggles.

I agree though, your ****ed if your prone to broken legs.

Youd hope that this may signal that bigger teams arnt willing to just hand over money to him and have him write the contract. I'm pleased utd refused to deal with him, I can imagine a few clubs are starting to be a bit wary.

It would only take a few clubs shying away from him to make players think that maybe signing on with him might not be the best idea.
