Now Ozil gets alot of critiscm these days, much of which is unfair. But for the money he is paid the guy is simply not giving us the required output.
If you look at him statistically he is getting less and less assists every year despite playing with arguably better forwards.
The modern 10 needs to score goals particularly in a side with two deep lying midfielders behind him. It is absolutely essential.

10 Thorgan Hazard (Dortmund, GER)
Something has to change here. We cant afford to be playing a guy in an advanced position who isn't contributing goals or assists to the required numbers. On top of that he's the highest paid player in our squad.
If you look at say the classic attacking sides from the early 2000's. You would generally have two forwards and two wingers - all of whome were expected to score. (think Henry, Bergkamp,Pires and Ljungeberg)
In a contemporary 4231 - you still have those 4 attacking players only its 1 CF, 2x WF's and a No.10/AMF.
With Xhaka/Guen/Torr all naturally deep lying midfeierds our AMF/10 HAS to contribute. To win leagues and compete at the highest level you need goals from all your attacking players and at the very least you need assists.
