Osbourne talking alot of sense on QT. I am not at all a Conservative but he is being very concise and sensible. Interesting how open ' ex ' politicians can be.

Whatever you think of his politics, he's incredibly bright and able to convey messages well. He was quite measured too. Watched QT for this first time in years after seeing your post. Wonder what would have happened if he'd still been an MP after the '17 election.

    On another note:

Subtle but important change of tone from Starmer and Labour. Early doors still, but he's making all the right calls so far imo.

He certainly looks like he is making a viable option for the more centralist voter who actually looks to policy over media personality, and comes across as an excellent diplomat and respectable.

I know Corbyn wasn't lot of people's cup of tea and they wouldn't have voted for him regardless but the hatchet job done on the fella was extraordinary and like nothing I have seen before, I fear this will happen to Starmer as well.

Guess time will tell, but (and this is likely my political bias coming into play) I think Corbyn gave them a lot of ammunition over the decades. I think Starmer will play a much smarter game. That said, I fear that the hard left, momentum et al, will be doing their own hatchet job on Starmer, so he could get squeezed on both sides.

What annoyed me with the criticism of Corbyn was whilst there were things to get him on most of the stuff that were at the forefront were either not true or just massively twisted. The terrorist sympathiser nonsense was the worst, the bloke did amazing diplomatic work with some unbelievable arseholes but that work needed to be done to achieve what we now have today, his main fault there was not calling the media out for twisting the narrative.

You could be correct about being squeezed from both sides, it's a real difficult game they would be playing though. The hard left currently have zero chance in being elected so you've either got the compromise of getting someone who is a lot more akin to your politics than the Tory government or letting the Tory's continue to explode in government and hope there isn't a more viable option. The problem with that is that a fair few Tory supporters will excuse them for anything and a certain proportion of the electorate consider Conservatives = Brexit and Labour = EU/Anti brexit and will continue to vote accordingly

I think a lot of the hard left have already or are in the process of leaving the Labour Party......many seem to be going over to George Galloway’s ‘Workers Party of Britain’...........

When it comes to Galloway, I can't get the picture of him pretending he was a cat for Rula Lenska whilst on Big Brother out of my head - truly cringeworthy

Just when you thought the USA had a crackpot leader, our very own BoJo describes our current situation as a success. Is it just a coincidence that 2 of the most powerful leaders in the world are both ****wits with the highest death rates in the world.

The worst thing for any country, in my opinion, is to have NO credible opposition.

Difficult to take this too seriously when Tory islamophobia is just so blatantly ignored and often condoned by Tories and The Mail.

Also feels a bit like a desperate deflection when there are bigger issues to report on.

The Tory problems are dwarfed by this Watford. A few months ago I posted about that reporter who was investigating Labour/Corbyn and said there were 1000's of incidents. You don't need to deflect attention to the Tories because this isn't about them... it's about Labour.
