We had quite a good plan. We chose not to invest in maintaining it. Other priorities.

You must know by now that I will follow the guidelines that are given out by the government and advised by the scientists and NHS England.

I've never ever mentioned easing the lockdown. I actually dont even think it's that strict to start with and there plays quite a bit of the problem.

Sorry mate didn’t think I was one of the experts ;).
Here’s my limited take on it.......

Im still a great believer in the original ‘herd immunity’ approach. Just makes sense to me, though of course that’s assuming that we DO have immunity once you have had COVID (which is still debatable). Personally I think a complete lockdown was the wrong thing to do....maybe a limited lockdown eg pubs, concerts etc but still leaving most shops open for business and allowing people to meet each other within reason..ie family visits, trips to the park, group walks etc etc. Of course this relies on the British public playing the game which might be a problem. That way people with the virus would pass it on to others, hopefully in a more controlled way, all the while trying to keep the ones at risk safe and away from harm.
Maybe we should of followed the Swedish method straight from the start, which still many are lauding as a success. After all, the NHS, after the initial ‘chaos’ stage, has adapted and coped extremely well.....

As I say Just my personal thoughts and ramblings.
Sorry if seems a bit disjointed but trying to make lunch for the kids whilst trying to teach them about quadrangles.

Calm down - from the Health Service Journal:
“Little is known so far about the issue, nor how widespread it has been, but the absolute number of children affected is thought to be very small, according to paediatrics sources. The syndrome has the characteristics of serious covid-19, but there have otherwise been relatively few cases of serious effects or deaths from coronavirus in children. Some of the children have tested positive for covid-19, and some appear to have had the virus in the past, but some have not.

The fact that very few children have become seriously ill with the virus or died, compared to adults, remains the case.”

To be honest mate, I would take most kids to hospital with those kind of symptoms.......I’m not back to work now till Thursday and as our guidelines seem to change daily, I don’t check till the night before.

They’re worse at testing than we are.

We’re motoring along towards 10000 per million. Not far behind Kazakhstan now.

Not worthless but they need some evaluation. You could use some of the available data to suggest the UK has done quite well. You’d have to ignore the rest of it admittedly.
