OK it seems that other threads are being hijacked and turned into political ones So I'm creating this one and you can put all your biased **** on here I'll start with this popular one Priti Patel saying there have been "Three hundred thousand and thirty four nine hundred and seventy four thousand tests". She obviously went to the same skool as Diane Abbott
Okay, I'm going to wade into this with what will perhaps be a badly thought out idea. A 2.5% tax increase right across the board should be a cross party agreement and it should be ring fenced for the NHS. That raises about £13.5bn. Then reverse the recent corporation tax cuts and increase back to 20% which will bring in about another £12bn. I'd also throw an extra 5% on the CGT rate if your income is above £150k. That's somewhere between £25-30bn to add to the NHS coffers annually. A report and accounts detailing exactly where that money had been spent, needs to be released to the public every year. Who's against it?
I did a quick calculation and worked out that if things go as bad as some officials think they will save that in pension payments alone so there is some more free money for the pot
I assume your talking about the 'Corona virus - non football' thread. I don't see the problem tbh, there's a huge political aspect of the virus and the way it's being handled.
Just watched KS being interviewd by Sophie Ridge and he couldn't even provide an answer to the question "How will the Labour Party change under your leadership"? Everything was just waffle! I think Boris' job is safe for the next decade or two.
Are you really surprised then. these lads have degrees in waffle and flannel, and that applies to all parties.
Me for the 2.5% across the board. I bounce between Universal Credit and agency work, be lucky if I get enough in a month to pay me bills, never mind pay more in tax. In fact, the way this is going I'll be doing a debt relief order next month if I can't get any work in the mean time.
I agree, but I was, wrongly, under the impression that me may be better than that. Probably, I should have known better than to even consider that a man who's never held a 'proper' job (outside of the Public Sector) could be any way superior to the rest of them.
https://bylinetimes.com/2020/04/11/...mm82HYaDbdMGzhtr8XPNILbyM5T1NgQXXai7CMz-yauh8 An interesting read by one of the few media outlets holding the government to account. When this is all over, I fear that we'll be left in a much worse position than most of the western world.
Yeah - I'd be surprised if none of the tabloids let it lie. Diane Abbott seems to have the knack for creating headlines though...
