To finish the season behind closed doors, including the play-offs, a good idea? I think it is.
I think the assumption is that when the lockdown is "relaxed" its very doubtful that the fans will be allowed back in stadiums to watch football...so the only real option is to play these games behind closed doors as and when the rules allow.Under the current rules, it’s not an option at all.

Certainly not having about 40 people in close proximity? What are the current rules ?

The proposal is fine, providing there's a suitable time ...
... which I can't see tbh.
At least the play off venue wouldn't be an issue ...
... if Wembley isn't available they could use Walsall's ground![]()
They are saying it could be done once the restrictions are being stepped down possibly May - June, and the programme could be completed in 52 days, this seems a reasonable soloution to me, and not as unfair as the alternatives so far suggested.
I may be wrong but the players will need a pre-season once the restrictions are lifted ...
... and if there's one case of a player being infected the whole thing could fall apart.
I honestly think these proposals are just window dressing.

If they come up with effective quick result testing...everything gets easier, the say 200 people could all be tested at every game
In fact if we had had effective quick testing, from the get go, this pandemic would never have got so bad. Testing is a game changer as it were.

The boy one is interesting. Hey went out of business and reformed as an amateur club I think. But this means they need to start afresh as if they are a brand new club next season if things play out. If the season is cancelled, If they can’t just “have their place back” (which they shouldn’t imo) then do you promote the top league 2 team and do on down the line until you get to the league bury are joining? If the season is scrapped, would that make Bolton the only team to be docked 12? Points and not be relegated.
Also would this mean that Bury would be given a reprieve and start afresh next season (I know it's not that simple).

I personally hate the idea of finishing behind closed doors. It’s not fair on the fans.i also don’t think it’s a financially viable option for most clubs outside the top division
