A truely humble guy who wrote wonderful songs, RIP Bill Withers.

A very bright and articulate bloke, as well as being a very talented songwriter and performer. There’s a documentary about him that’s well worth a watch, he basically made as much money as he thought he’d ever need and then just jacked it all in, turned down offers of millions to perform again.

Yes, I saw it, also an interview with whispering Bob Harris. He certainly was a talented guy but didn't want all the hullaballoo that went with it.

Shirley Douglas aged 86. Daughter of Tommy Douglas (born in Falkirk) who introduced social health service to Sakatchewan when premier. Later followed by the rest of Canada. Shirley was an actress and social activist, exwife of Donald Sutherland and mother of Kiefer. A spectacular woman, RIP Shirley.

Sad news.
Had the pleasure of chatting to Donald Sutherland on the phone for about 10 minutes in 1990. He'd called the father (an assistant film director & producer) of one of my son's pals when we were at a BBQ at their place. He was stressed out so asked me to take a message when the phone rang as he was doing the barbie ****.
Sutherland is a very funny guy - almost a British sense of humour. Called me an English bastard if I recall correctly.
He was somewhere in China filming part of the movie "Bethune: The making of a hero." and wanted feedback from his mate the one stuck on BBQ duty. Give DS credit, he didn't reverse the charges !

Our beautiful Kelsey, my sister and brother-in-laws gorgeous white American Bull Terrier. It was the saddest part of our recent holiday in Australia, she’d developed a bad limp in one of her rear legs. On taking her to the vet and having x-rays and scans we were told she had bone cancer and all they could do was give her pain relief, I had to leave the room. They said she could last anything between a month and three months, we were there in February. Heartbreakingly she was euthanised at 3am our time today. I know that certain dogs do this but Kelsey had the best smile ever when you returned home, I only knew her for three and a bit weeks but I loved her like we’d had her forever.

RIP Kels :emoticon-0153-broke:emoticon-0153-broke:emoticon-0153-broke <rose><peacedove> xxxx

Honor Blackman, aged 94 (non-Covid-19 related). An under-rated actress, one of the sexiest women to have ever walked the Earth, and if you ever saw her interviewed, a brilliant, energetic personality. RIP.

Indeed she was - RIP Cathy Gale.
