Dunno, I don't get the clapping thing. They are doing a great job but in their position I wouldn't want the fuss I would just consider it my job.

Off the top of my head I’d say innocent people ending up dead because of being wrongly accused, a lack of a proper justice system and a normalisation of violence.

But he has high approval ratings and maybe the people feel they need a strong hand at this point in their economic and social development.

I suppose some may like the praise and it'll give them a boost.

Yes, I know what it means.

So, they're the ones who need a good clap right?

Doubt there's a nurse or doctor who has witnessed hundreds suffocating in one day in Newcastle mate.

    Yet.

I'm only 'confused' by your statement that the ones who witness hundreds dying a day are the ones we should clap at.

Unless there are a bunch of uber nurses and doctors who get to witness every daily death in Britain. By skype or something?

I do wonder how NHS workers really feel about the clapping thing. Some might feel a sense of pride or something, but most are down to earth and hard working people who know what this is, useless pointless and transient faux appreciation expression.

i asked if we are clapping and luv said he didnt see the point... i replied morale.. i used the comment about the people seeing people die because he said 'some' would appreciate it... my comment worked because he replied yes i get it now. I simply tried to imagine seeing that and going to work knowing its coming and thought those people in particular could do with a lift and show of national support , not singling out certain areas that matter more or less.
