Pierre I second that. I just heard it on the BBC site and he is obviously very passionate about the team and clearly disapointed with the match officials.
Any point away from home is a good one, unless you're Man Utd. I don't think NP is sending the players out with the brief of only getting one goal, but if we score one in every away game (as we are doing) and generally keep a clean sheet away from home or occasioanlly let them have one like today (as we are doing) it's a clear recipe for success. Obviously at home we haven't scored enough but the goals are coming. The Pompey game showed improvement on that front and we could have scred 3 or 4 there with a bit more luck.
Here's a link to the interview: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hull_city/9599368.stm
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hull_city/9599368.stm Just found the link. What does Pearson do or say wrong? Nothing. Literally 5 mins after the game has finished, emotions high, and still seething over an apparent foul on Cairney, which led to their goal. Why wouldn't he be annoyed? Consistency of refs - well it's not just NP is it. Football forums all around the country go into meltdown on a weekend after games, with one or other (sometimes both) teams managers and fans complaining about refs. As do MOTD, Sky etc. First time I've heard NP complain about refs. And as for the Koren injury, read the website .. isn't that just his dry sense of humour coming through? Course it is, but some of you wet weekends just can't see it (or hear it) and have melodramatic hissy fits, because he's rude and arrogant. No he's not, he's straight talking, saying it as it is. And would he or anyother manager know the extent of knocks or injuries 5 mins after the game has finished? Course they wouldn't. Really some of you soppy nerds want to get a grip. Cannot think of a better manager anywhere else that is more suited to getting us back to the Premiership.
It is a strange interview, granted. The OP is right though in saying that it's nothing to get into a tantrum about; he's been the manager for 15 months now, surely we're all used to what NP gives in the media when he's miffed off? I didn't see the foul on Cairney - I wasn't there - but in an interview straight after a frustrating game that we should have won, of course he'll be seething over the incident. Personally I can't see what all the fuss is about.
Nothing wrong in there for me. Clearly someone has their underwear in a twist to complain about that.
Well we are 6th in the table, yes fans will listen and moan about the interview, but what does that matter to Nigel Pearson? Is he going to have sleep less nights? No. Will it have any affect on the team and their performances? No. So why does it really matter?
In Nige we trust! Great manager. Interview is fine. He is naturally hacked off because of a poor decision and it subsequently led to the goal. I for one am glad he is passionate. We have one of the best young English managers in the country. City were ok today and they are trying to score more, the multiple goals will come, maybe this coming Tuesday.... Koren's interplay with McClean for the goal was excellent. Plus, the last 10 minutes were exciting end to end stuff. The guy who starts's City's 'Nigel Pearson's Black and Amber Army' chant must be hoarse tonight - great effort. I thought Bristol's support was good, funny seeing them take their shirts off when they scored. Knackered after the drive back to London (painfull getting out of Bristol) and now looking forward to the highlights later and where's that glass/bottle of wine. Sixth place after two months ....UTT !
i fully expected to agree with the original point, as i find him like that most games..but didnt sound too bad to me, finished with a laugh anf a joke etc... got to say, i didnt notice the officials being particularly poor tho, i thought it was a rather incident free game, unfortunately that extends to the action in the penalty box too...
I'm stunned that this thread exists. Really I am. The best manager in the world has had rants at the media that make Pearson look like a Blue Peter presenter. Anyone remember when the Madrid media all stood up and walked out of his press conference in retaliation? Do you think Jose gave two hoots?
Mourinho's successful though, so he can be bit arrogant. Pearson's not, so he can't. I'm stunned you're stunned at this thread though, one appears every week, you'd think you'd be used to them by now and they wouldn't come as such a surprise.
You've got a City Legend as your avatar, and you come out with that? Do you mean the long ball Aidy Boothroyd, or another one?
Just got back in and listened to the interview on I-player as was very intrigued to hear why Boothferry was ranting with this thread, all I can say there is nothing wrong with the interview at all, maybe Boothferry should go support Real Madrid if he wants to hear a clown giving press conferences.
Also I didn't see the Real Madrid comment above so obviously it's not just me thinks like that. I love Pearson and his no bullshit style.
With the likes of you, Boothferry, and Tigersteve it's not surprising we get some daft threads popping up. At least you have got a bit more brains than the other two, if only you could admit you are wrong, about anything. Thats real arrogance buddy.
