I have flights booked to Mauritius in July. I usually book hotels separately and hadn't so far, so probably dodged a bullet there.

Not sure what to do about the flights. Truth is I don't know how I stand even with the ATOL stuff. If I cancel do I get a refund, or do I have to wait for them to cancel.

At a guess, I'd assume you have to wait for them to cancel, to get a refund.

That's what I'm thinking.

Tbh I don't want to cancel, I'll happily keep them. I just want to know if it gets to July and they say the airline / tour operator is cancelling the flights, I'll get my money back.

Our government say they are at 10,000 tests a day, yet there were 6,000 results.

Now it looks like ocado just bought 100,000 tests to check it's staff.

Something is going wrong here.

Just leave it, tell them you turned up at the airport and there was no plane there and they owe you your money back innit.

Should do. I generally pay for holidays on the credit card, I believe it gives you extra protection, but not sure if that's completely true.

Or you’ll get an automated answer when you call up saying the airline has gone into administration and you’ll be getting a cheque for 57p next year.

This is how I imagine it...

Does died with Coronavirus make a difference though? They are testing everyone who dies for Coronavirus, even if the death is unrelated. So if someone I know dies of a heart attack, will anyone care about the coronavirus they detect afterwards?

Everyone ultimately dies from a heart attack mate....a patient with coronavirus who dies from cardiac arrest, the coronavirus will be the cause of death.

If they cancel the flight they have to refund you. Is it a direct flight you’ve booked as one ticket or 2 flights with a transfer via the UAE?

Not always the cause no. Anyway you know what I mean, there are people dying with Coronavirus for various reasons but not because of it.

It's one ticket per person but stopping in UAE. Why do I fear a "ah you're fcked then" coming :bandit:

Not really no. A person with cardiac issues without coronavirus might have lived for years. The coronavirus would be the cause of their death.

I fear you're going off the point somewhat <laugh> OK forget the cardiac arrest, there are many other reasons someone may die with this coronavirus but not because of it.

If it’s two separate carriers then the flight from the UAE might still be scheduled but the flight to the UAE cancelled. Who have you booked through?

It's Emirates all the way. Booked through online travel agent.
