I think only time will tell, Bob. It’d be pretty ballsy or Trump-like ignorant-arrogant to make a different call than the one made. As a government, I suspect nobody wants to be responsible for deaths and one can only deal with one crisis at a time. How the global governments tackle the crashed economies will, I reckon, have consequences for most of us for the rest of our naturals.

I sincerely hope Mrs Mid is doing OK.

Nobody even mentioned it until YOU DID. You are the conspiracy theorist!! I prefer to think , for once that it was a monumental cock up, ie turning to face each other when starting to cough, podia (Podiums?) less than 2 metres apart and lots of backslapping on a press conference well handled. Perhaps it was the Russians wot done it.

It’s without doubt challenging everyone and every family Bob - as you know only to well (hope Mrs Bob is doing well). At the end of the day it is common sense that needs to prevail, the government has set down strong guidelines for everyone as it thinks is necessary - and it is. We just need to follow these guidelines using common sense - sadly our society has a minority of people who ignore or flout the use of common sense. The police response sounds excessive at times; but we’ve seen so many incidents of ignorance. All of this while our essential workers put themselves at the frontline to look after us and provide for us.
For many of us it is hard to see what the future will hold while our work, our businesses are on hold or declining rapidly every day. It’s very tough now; it will be very very tough ahead. I just hope we can see this through with the minimum of personal loss for everyone here and around the world.
For now keep safe everyone and let’s rebuild when we can.
And all though I’ve said it before ... thanks Stainsey (and all like you) for being out there for us all. I hope the vital PPE is there for you, it’s the least you deserve.

I know a lot are talking about the police response on stopping people in the street or in their cars etc etc, but it is only certain police forces that seem to be doing this.
My lad has been working last few days and has been given no instructions to stop people at random or to enforce any ‘lockdown’...........he’s new so thinks it more important to crack down on real crime.

I prefer to think that their jobs are as ‘front line’ as NHS staff and their contracting of the disease illustrates the voracity of the thing and that Johnson isn’t hiding in fridges anymore.

You can keep your cynicism; I’ll wish them and all other sufferers well.

Sister in law came home from her shift last night. They are rationing hand sanitizer to her team. You take your tiny bottle and each team member gets 2 squirts in it. Their new face masks are no different to the ones I use when mixing plaster! and they are pretty crap. She said it's like people want us to either get infected or infect these elderly vulnerable people.

They're certainly very low profile in London, I've not been out much but ran a couple of 'arms-length' errands for family and haven't seen any sign of the Police. The worst part of this is visiting and dropping off the medicine or item and then having to step away, it's tough when the grandsons want a cuddle but have to make do with a wave...

The sad death of Chloe Middleton, 21, previously attributed to the virus, has been reclassified as a heart attack. Apparently the coroner made a mistake, because she had a cough, but medical staff contradicted this.

Im trying to find the video that is circulating where Theatre staff and Drs talk about the protection offered by certain types of face mask........the ones I use on a daily basis (paper, surgical) offer 0% protection against Corona virus.
The ones I’ve been fitted for, but not told to wear (except during AGP) as they are in short supply, FFP3, offer 99% protection against Corona virus........Mustn't complain though.

I have no mixed feelings at this point. The world will change forever because of this incredible reaction to something on par with seasonal flu.

I don’t believe what we’re being told is the truth, I don’t believe we ever really get truth from government, I don’t think they have our best interests at heart, I don’t believe mainstream media have any interest in investigating anything, simply dishing out incessant propaganda and lies. I bet the stats would back up my feeling.

What’s AGP? (I’m going to feel painfully stupid as this is doubtless obvious). For how long is a FFP3 mask effective? Do you have one....if yes why not just wear it anyway? Does the paper mask stop you spreading the virus if you’ve got it, even if it doesn’t stop you getting it? What’s your favourite colour? How many questions do I get?

AGP - Aerosol Generating Procedure such as suctioning/Intubation or CPR.
We are meant to have disposable FFP3 masks on the ambulance but as I said, we are not meant to wear them except for the above. On training I was given a fully fitted FFP3 rubber mask but not given any filters for it. Soon after I joined they were discontinued, I assume over financial implications as these have a ‘shelf life’.
Not too sure if the paper mask stops you spreading it to be honest, but assuming not entirely (might be wrong though)
    Favourite colour is Black
As many questions as you want ;)

Scandalous mate. I said when I went to France in January that Chinese people cleared the uk of masks and gloves. We used to have plenty of FFP3 masks before. I only hope the government makes sure you are all fully protected.

Mr P, aged 101, admitted to hospital in Rimini last week with the virus. He’s recovered and has been discharged today.

    This is interesting SB.
The first death here (locally) was a terminally ill man who was in and out of hospital and had weeks to live. They obviously tested him after death and put the cause of death as Coronavirus. If that had been in Germany he wouldn’t have been tested after death and cause of death would have been cancer.
