‘Clap for our carers’

8pm

Go to your doorstep and clap

Missed it....was tucking into my curry

I was out for a walk with my daughter. As we walked down the road to the intersection of our road everyone's out clapping. So I just raised a hand to show my appreciation and then rather humbled, carried on.

What's the clapping all about?

Show support for the NHS ...

Indian guy I work with missus is a doctor ... she went to local Sainsbury this morning during the concession time for elderly / NHS ... was asked for ID in queue and when she produced her doctor's ID the whole queue, mainly pensioners, started clapping ...

On a negative... a girl in my team who returned to work about 6 months ago after having a cancerous lung removed won't shop during the concession hours because of the looks she receives... striking looking black lady in her early forties but could pass for ten years younger ... ****ing hate people sometimes ...<grr>

Yeh same fckers that probably emptied out the bog roll, pasta and hand sanitiser she so desperately came in for.

Apparently 8pm was chosen as a time to stand on your doorstep and applaud the NHS workers...I don't do social media so only found out when we heard all the neighbours clapping.

May not change things directly but it maybe a sign that the vast majority are taking it seriously and appreciate what is being done.

Or it could be a national attempt at using clapping as morse code to tell Hiag to **** off :bandit:

Why were all the old people standing close enough to see the woman’s ID? Do they not listen?

**** sake, this post from one of the From the Banks of the River Irwell Facebook group admins.

He's clearly not drinking it properly if it's gone to his lungs. Seems to have had the desired effect going by his grammar though.

They weren't ... started with the nearest and spread down the queue ... very big Sainsbury's apparently but we're only letting 50 in and then one out one in ...

50 folk in the entire store and there’s a long queue. Sounds legit. Nice sentiment but sounds like your Indian bro has been at the turps.

Why is she allowed to shop during the concession hour? Am I missing something here?
