Find it quite amazing that 1 million UK citizens are overseas either on holiday or business. We're not talking here about people who live in other countries, these were decisions taken by individuals or families to travel at a time of crisis which they deemed unavoidable and necessary. To say I'm gobsmacked is an understatement but then nothing surprises me anymore about our society as it seems we lack even basic common sense and any ability whatsoever to make the correct decision without government intervention. I'll leave it there for now otherwise I'll start talking about morality, decorum, respect and consideration etc. Stay home and stay safe.
So the UK is in lockdown, well not really, still go parks etc, kids will fall over need to go to hospital etc etc. Take this seriously STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE.
I agree, it was a generalisation, people on bikes, getting into cars to go to parks etc, accidents will happen and take up valuable ambulances, doctors and nurses time, hospital beds etc. These are not normal times and not fun, if everyone thinks the rules are for the others we will be ****ed. STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE.
I know several who two weeks ago were of the ah shur it’s only a flu, the government are over reacting type. Been talking to some in last couple of days and are probably the most worried
With everyone staying home, the mortality numbers during this pandemic will be less than comparable periods in other years.!
Good job you left it there Jammy otherwise I would not have been able to resist the temptation to join in
I see Trump is promising a return to normal in weeks, not months. He is basically saying the economy is more important and that the negative effects of staying home too long outweigh those who will die from covid19 Of course, that’s going to cause a massive divide of opinion but with China starting free movement again and instantly getting a new case of Corona reported on day one you have to question what is the correct answer
Trumps comments are not worth listening to. The imbecile has changed his viewpoint almost daily since this began and he's not fit for purpose working in a pet shop, let alone running a world superpower
What's everyones view on wearing masks and protective gloves ? My basic research seems to show that wearing a mask probably won't stop you catching the virus but will help to stop spreading it if you're already infected. Gloves seem to be effective as long as you don't touch your face etc and then dispose of and wash your hands. The secondary question is; As I have a few masks and a couple of boxes of gloves should I be donating these to the NHS as they seem to be in short supply. Incidentally I bought these items years ago when bird flu etc was in the news and have never used them.
You could lock down everyone and the virus would flare up again. Nature is doing its thing as so many times before. Outside my flat people are walking about in threes and the local druggies are walking about as normal. You cannot control 67million people it just won't happen. People have fled the North of Italy to escape but the south can't cope with them. Prepare for the worst it will happen.
I'm delivering medication to vulnerable patients for a pharmacy over the next few weeks, they have provided masks and said they are for my own protection. The problem is the removing of the mask without touching your face, that is where people are slipping up. I think it is more a case that the number one cause for spreading the virus is your hands and people wearing masks are touching their face and adjusting the mask more than they would without one. Fine if you have washed your hands first but most haven't
Latest I have heard is people pinching NHS identification tags so the bastards can do their shopping NHS staff told to hide their tags The world has gone down the pan
It was law in China. Masks had to be worn if you went out and about. NHS staff need them first though.
