While I think the guidelines seem simple enough to understand I have woken up this morning wishing it had been made clearer that those who can’t work from home are still ok to go to work whilst obviously using sensible precautions.

The amount of staff and client calls and emails I’m getting today is ridiculous.

The level of panic and confusion from people who are in jobs where they should know better is quite shocking.

I also think the government need to lay out guidance that all publicly funded organisations need to keep paying their suppliers. They will keep getting funding and if they decide to stop services and not pay for them there’s going to be a huge bill for businesses and individuals that could be avoided. Personally I think any public organisation choosing to halt services and not wanting to pay for them is acting in a socially irresponsible way.

Exactly. People have formed their own interpretations of what the guidelines actually mean, including plod btw.

I had a staff member stopped whilst walking to work this morning, plod asked what she did, she told him and he decided she wasn’t an essential worker and told her to go home

 

That old chestnut.

 

She rang and asked for a lift. So, no.

 

Bluffing.

 

Wonder if the plod even thought for a sec that being able to earn, buy food and eat is kind of essential.

More to the point, people haven’t been told they can’t go to work. They’ve been told to work from home if possible.
Plod had no right telling her to go home.
