Well an interesting day of "work".

On Friday we had around 30% of the pupils who had parents claiming to be "entitled" to childcare provided by the school. Some genuinely having a case for it others not (I kid you not there was a barmaid, a dog walker, data entry analyst and a beautician who all thought they were key workers). Today around 5% of pupils turned up so we were overstaffed (which is nice but a waste of time and resources). As a result I'm now only likely to be in one day a week - result! So home with my children 6 days a week - oh erm, nuts.

How was everyone else? People indoors, working, come on explain your days!!

I’m an essential worker mate and I have a formal letter from my employer confirming my status within healthcare. Other should have this to stop the piss takers. We have chosen to school our kids at home as my wife is a qualified teacher and we won’t burden the education system until this is over. She will fit that in around her part time job in social care.

Anyone else thinking the Chinese just might not be telling the truth numbers wise? Remember they covered up the outbreak initially.

I think Asian countries are reaping the benefits oh having a population that do what they are told to by the government and governments that dont have any issues with imposing strict measures on people.

Or potentially it’s a locked down totalitarian state where most deaths are either not even known or not chosen to be reported on cos the Chinese put a lot of stock in saving face.

interesting how the whistleblower who discovered the pandemic well before the Chinese came clean ‘died due to c19’ and his body was quickly disposed of with no autopsy....

That may be the case but there is no doubt they are over the hump. No country would risk damaging its whole economy by getting back to work the way China is now without knowing that the internal threat had decreased. You only have to compare UK and Asian country current border controls to realise there is a whole different mindset there - one which is trying hard not to impact individuals personal freedoms and another that puts the country’s security before personal freedom.

I am not supporting state over personal freedom I am just saying that in times like this the mindset makes it easier to put draconian measures in place that help control the virus spread.

Ok. Agree on borders.

First full day of home working today. Gained 2-3hrs by not having to travel into the office and back so used that to sleep a bit longer and then do my home work out.
Productive morning doing both technical and admin work with the first of our daily online meetings with staff, and now having lunch. Swimming pool looks very inviting right now but trying to be very disciplined.
