Went shopping yesterday and went to 5 different supermarkets, Lidl, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Tesco’s and Aldi and not one had any pasta or toilet rolls, 2 had eggs, and one had kitchen rolls.

There is food out there albeit maybe not what people necessarily want but there is food. But the people stockpiling should be ashamed of their selfish, thoughtless and disgusting behaviour. Their stockpiling is putting unnecessary pressure on others and, in particular, the essential services who are working their socks off in the first place.

Constant demonstrations about how stupid people are such as the Welsh hills, the Highlands and Bondi Beach. What does it take for people to actually use their brains? God was quite nice when we first started and gave us one each but some people seem to think they’ll get money back when they die if they haven’t used theirs.

Would love to meet a stockpiler (which currently is worse than being a Mackem) and tell them what I think of them. Would also love it for the Police to be allowed to go into peoples homes and remove any goods which are deemed to be stockpile goods without compensating the thoughtless scum who stockpiled.

the supermarkets should lock up the trolleys and make folk use baskets. Problem solved.

the 100m long queue I saw at Tesco today as I drove to the local convenience store had gaps between people of no more than 30cm. God our species deserves everything which is coming with idiots like that alive.

And what’s with the “brother” comment.

I just want everyone who posts and reads this forum to know that I have no, absolutely no, family ties or connections with Chippy either directly or indirectly. As I say none whatsoever.

For anybody who wants to figure out whether this is serious or not I just received this from the Prime Minister of Papua new Guinea.

Basically shutting the country down both internally and to outsiders for 14days after their first case.

If you can't be bothered reading at least marvel in the following phrase:

So this is how my weekend panned out. Sat morning I took my brother up to local Aldi with me. He still lives with my mother (same street as me) and she's just had an operation and can't drive for a couple of months. My brother doesn't drive so being the nice guy I am and knowing i'm gonna need stuff anyways we head up there and there for 7.30ish (opens at 8). We're the first ones there. By opening time, the queue that has formed is so big that staff come out to inform us that they can't let everyone in at the same time and there's a security guard on the door minimising the footfall in the shop.

To their credit the shelves were well stocked and there was plenty of pretty much everything....not a bag of spaghetti or pasta shapes in sight however. We proceeded to get most of what we individually needed for our respective households for the week with minimal fuss and were out and back in the car some 30 mins later. Had we waited until mid-morning or any later I'm confident we would have struggled to get most of what we needed.

Sat afternoon me and the Mrs went out and headed up to Warkworth with the dog for a walk on the beach. We must have passed about 2 or 3 people on the beach, it was pretty perfect albeit a tad windy. Really missed not being able to stop off and grab a bite or a pint, even though the Mason's Arms was still open for some bizarre reason despite the ban coming into force that very day.

Sunday we did nowt, went nowhere and saw nobody. Those people who felt the need to go out and visit their mothers, i just hope that your mother is there for you to visit her next year....there's literally no need for it! Don't even get me started on the masses that were decending on Tynemouth/Whitley Bay and packing out the Ice Cream parlours and Chippies....it's these people that are going to force us into a lockdown rather than just being ****ing sensible about things.

Stay safe people and for ****s sake stay indoors. If you don't have to go out then don't.

My kids had planned to take my wife out for lunch on Mother's Day but as the restaurants were shut they agreed to cook for her at one of their houses. When she told me she was going over to see them I said you really shouldn't and she said that the warning only applied to old mothers!

Quite right. Only applies to those who are old or those aspiring to be.
