But we are at war. (said quietly but firmly looking straight into the camera.)
Make no mistake, we are at war. (said louder and with a bit more aggression this time.)
    ...Rest of the speech...
We are at war. (said calmly and reassuringly, as he is our leader who will keep things calm and safe.)

Unless I'm unwell, I'll be leaving the house to work, as I have no choice.

Sorry, to be clear, the current Govt policy makes complete sense and I fully support it. It's time limited and needed to prop up the economy. I was referring to UBI in 'normal times'. I don't really count what the Government has done as UBI, it's a short term cash injection rather than a universal and indefinite commitment. Think we were talking cross purposes.

You and me both Col. Seeing little evidenxe so far that us self employed are being even thought of. FFS, £400 a month, not good even if I managed to freeze my mortgage and every other bill.

I'm fortunate that my sector (telecoms) has now been deemed an essential service, so unless I'm ill I will be out working. I only work with one other person, and a delivery driver first thing most days, so very little social interaction anyway.

I can work on my own all day and not get anywhere near anyone.
If they don't offer more help for the self employed that's what I'll be doing.

Is the work still there Col? If so I don’t think you have been asked to stop yet, unless you or a member of your household is ill. Who knows how long that will last.

Quite relieved that my wife put her one person company into mothballs and took a PAYE job after Christmas. But as she is still in her probation period chance that she will be laid off.

    Good luck mate.

As you are a key worker will he still be able to go to school? Might be a bit odd for him as it looks more like childminding than school.

    Thanks.
Yes, by and large the work is still there.
Just got to keep going, whilst being as sensible as possible.
The biggest problem for me is all the thick ****ers who invade my space when I'm forced into a shop!

As the Mrs is not working I don’t think he can go in. To be honest, I think he’s just finding it a bit too much as he really loves his teacher, who is a great guy and looks after him so well. He did talk of wanting to go in but think that will pass.....it’s just becoming too much for his head at the moment.
