John McDermott leaving the club to take up an FA roll , how big a loss will be be for , honestly don't know much about him
Two jobs...He is s extremely highly thought of. United tried to recruit him a few years back but he said that he'd waited a lifetime to work with a manager like Pochettino and wasn't going to pass up doing so.
All things change eventually, but it's hard not to see his departure as weakening us and thinking that working with Mourinho isn't what most Academy managers have high on their list of things to do before they retire.
Another job to fill...

They really should stream some old games every few days during this break. You must log in or register to see mediaYou must log in or register to see media
I enjoyed that, great to see all around the inside of stadium. Love the wall of programmes & pics of the double days. The lads were good fun too! Rivalry great between Son & Deli (your sooo lucky)![]()

It's a strange one as let's be honest, our youth and academy set-ups have badly lost their way over the past 3 years. The trouble started well before Poch's reign started to unravel. Talent after talent fizzled into nothing, while we saw a host of players coming through who blatantly weren't good enough. It was a stark contrast with the 'golden era' of players who came through in the AVB/Interim/Early Poch eras.
The reality is from the day Winks broke through to the day Tanganga did the same, we saw precious little to cheer about from our much vaunted academy. Yes, Skipp and KWP came close, but both were going backwards at a rate of knots - and under Poch, not just Maureen.
Perhaps it is time for fresh a start.
Chelsea were using a similar policy a few years before: sign some prospects for nominal fees, loan them out for a few seasons to get their value up, then sell them at a profit to balance out the FFP spreadsheet - notably with Nathan Ake, Jeffrey Bruma and Bertrand TraoreIt's impossible to know whether he was part of the problem or might have been a part of setting it right.
In 2016, the club implemented a policy of keeping promising youngsters at the club and not loaning them out to get competitive first team football. That didn't help those players and a number below decided to leave before it happened to them as well.
Mauricio Pochettino initiated the policy. Did McDermott support it? It wasn't what happened pre-Poch with Kane, Townsend, Mason, etc., so I'm guessing that his job is to do as he's told by those above him.
A fresh start may possibly help but with Mourinho at the head of it and his reluctance to play Skippy and Parrott in mind, I'm not hugely confident that it will.
Of course, the fact that the way we're set up gives us a degree of self-sufficiency while clubs such as Palace and Villa are likely ****ed will definitely not escape the attention of the Lunatic FringeI think that when this ends a lot of clubs will go to the wall and hopefully clubs will reevaluate the way they do business and the way they view the fans
Instead of bringing in average overseas players I hope they will put more faith in UK based players , the same for the fans, stop mugging them off for the SKY BT AMAZON £$ and reengage with the fans , prices need to be more realistic , fans are going to be very careful with finance due to lay of from their jobs
The Bundesliga ticket prices are far more acceptable and it doesn't seem to have done them any damage.I think that when this ends a lot of clubs will go to the wall and hopefully clubs will reevaluate the way they do business and the way they view the fans
