Still planning to them visit on Wednesday. At that age, old people need visitors, it’s the bright spot of their lives.

Well yeah there are ramifications beyond just the number of people who will die. This ought to change society forever.

I do have some sympathy with the government and all governments as they need to make decisions quickly with imperfect information and all decisions have negative consequences. I can’t say I trust this lot to make the best decisions on behalf of society as a whole and I think that would still be the case if I was an ardent Tory.

 

My Nan, 80 this year, is currently in the Canary Islands due to fly back a week tomorrow. Starting to get worried that she might not be able to come back.

She hasn’t left the house for over a week now...I’ve stopped visiting her.
Just phone call catch ups for the foreseeable. She lives with my eldest brother and his family so It’s not too bad but I think wether it’s mass hysteria or not we need to take it seriously because there something new in the air and it don’t like us

 

Doubt it. 6 months after the virus ends people will be back voting for Tories to cut unnecessary public services so big businesses can be propped up. The unions that have worked to save millions of lives while the government did nothing will again be villified.

Last week I said to my mum, I’m not going to kiss you mum. She put her hand over her mouth and pointed at her cheek. I know her only real fear is of my dad dying first and leaving her alone.

Yeah I read earlier that loads of flights yesterday were cancelled. She's with her friend who owns a place there anyway so won't be any hassle having to stay a bit longer. Might actually be better for her than being here right now tbh.
