On the second March, the UK were into single daily figures. In under 10 days we are worse than China who are coming out of a lock down?

China is still reporting daily cases but they are into single figures. So it is either going to be rampant again in 10 days, or if it isn't then it means it's ran its course. It hasn't gone away in China, the lock down didn't make it vanish
They will just lock down tiny areas, until it's gone, stay on top of it. We're an Island, we could have stopped this with a month's very tight border control and flights stopped.

You in a month's time.
Joking aside, I hope you're mum is okay mate I really do but I genuinely do not believe a lock down is the right way to go. I guess we all want what is best for ourselves, you're thinking about your mum, me I am thinking financially because I don't believe I would die from it. If I am wrong and I did or a loved one did then I wouldn't be impressed. I lost my father years ago, my mum hasn't spoken to me for 10 years and her last words to me were "consider me dead" so I genuinely don't care if she takes a hit

FFS and I thought Glory was heartless, I think you should ban yourself until the virus clears up:emoticon-0136-giggl

But that doesn’t make sense mate, new cases have dropped to nearly single figures and they’re returning to work. It was only 10 days or so ago the UK was new cases in single figures. It’s just as likely that those who were going to get hit bad did and the rest were very mild. If there are still daily new cases it hasn’t gone away, maybe ran it’s course for now?

I actually spoke to a guy who is an English teacher in China. Has been for years. He told me that one of two things happened (or a combination of the two).

1. They locked everything down. It stopped spreading immediately and doesn't seem to be bouncing back.

2. Whilst on lockdown the sunshine came out and it got warmer. Since then people have stopped dying.

His advice to me was to be careful for the next few weeks until the weather warms up. Nothing drastic, just common sense stuff like avoiding crowds and don't use public transport at rush hour etc if you can help it. He also said that all these mild cases are few and far between and that if you get coronavirus then you WILL know about it.

He"s been through the lockdown without being affected by it and normality is returning to China. He is not at the epicentre but a little north of it. Lots of people still in masks but restaurants are now open and its business as usual.

Yeah, I hear you. I'm just regurgitating info from a guy who I barely know in China. I have no reason to doubt him.

The sentence that stuck in my mind was when he said "when it got warmer, people stopped dying!"

He has in the last few weeks really gone to town on China for these illegal markets and how this is the "third time these ****s have ground things to a halt over some **** eating bats and snakes!". He has also stated that they haven't cut any corners regarding the shut down and that it has worked.

FWIW I don't think its something to really panic about but I don't think it should just be dismissed as a bit of flu. It's probably somewhere inbetween. Be aware of it, be careful around elderly relatives and do what you reasonably can to avoid getting it.

Mikel Arteta positive for coronavirus! Arsenal won't be playing for a few weeks! Had been in contact with the Forest owner when Arsenal played the Greek team Olympiakos Feb 27th. Since then they played two games.

This season will not be finished at this rate.

EFL Official Statement - March 12, 2020

In light of today’s announcement by the UK Government, EFL matches will continue to take place as normal while the guidance from the relevant authorities remains that there is no medical rationale to close or cancel sporting events at this time.

The EFL, however, will continue to work with Government and relevant stakeholders to further develop contingency plans to ensure the League is best placed to act as and when any potential restrictions may come into force.

Immediately following the announcement by the Prime Minister, EFL Chair Rick Parry held discussions with the FA and Premier League and agreed on a consistent approach ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures. Matters will be further discussed at a meeting called by European Football’s Governing body, UEFA, on Tuesday 17 March.

The League will continue to liaise with the Government regarding ongoing developments and will continue to work with Clubs to ensure players, staff and supporters are updated and appraised accordingly.

These matters are, of course, subject to change and we will update as appropriate.

Not looking good

People aren't traveling around or socialising, they all wear masks and sanitise there hands, only people you see in this country wearing masks is Asians, we have it all to come, by the way, read an artical by an Italian Doctor yesterday, he said the death rate was 20x that of seasonal flu, and there hospitals are full of people in their 30-40s. Boris has made his decision to do nothing, could see us being the worst affected in the world soon, let's hope he's not the man who kills 1-2 million Brits.

Wearing the masks probably means they are very careful about washing hands often, not touching surfaces in public places, etc. Most of the masks out there are not designed to stop this virus, so wearing them is pointless.
