blah blah blah, it's war, someone makes a bad decision in pretty much every war, it still doesn;t change the fact that the officer class lost a higher proportion than the enlisted men, which kills your argument that they were safe.
I understand, you were there and still keenly feel the loss of your brothers in arms from the war 102 years ago, but a lot of the 'facts' of WW1 have no basis in reality. The fact is that the war started with cannons & cavalry and ended with tanks and planes.

Its meant to catch them out. The change is that there is still some grey areas around it and the onus is on the business employing them to make the decision. If they dont want to take the risk on they will report you as inside. If they are happy to pay fines if they are investigated then they can report you as outside.

Its probably easier to investigate the number of companies than to investigate thousands of individuals

It's amazing the amount of Americans, that actually don't understand that, so it is a classic mistake, obviously not one fitting of a President!

It’s intended to remove the tax dodge of being a supposed contractor when you’ve only got one client and they essentially employ you on a full time basis.

Many will still escape it though, as the employer is only beholden to the new rules if 2 out of the following 3 apply - a turnover of £10m, a balance sheet value of over £5m and employing over 50 people.

Many seem to think that it’ll be solved by the employer merely taking them onto their payroll. Only, if the employer decides to test the market and see what else is out there, there’s no reason they have to employ the current ‘self employed’ worker.

24th June 1914 the East Lancs regiment of 720 men advanced on German guns at Serre at 7:30 am ... by 8:00 am 584 were killed, wounded or missing ...

I wasn't there Hernia ... but my mother's family came from the area and my father's uncle won a medal for distinguished conduct having joined up underage In the wake of the massacre of his peers ... don't recall many old Etonians being listed as casualties ... but a good bet that one of the over privilidged twats gave the order to test flesh against bullets ... twats like you can mock all you want but you can't change the reality with your selective stats ...

It's aimed at bigger companies who are paying big money to these guys ... we've just undertaken an exercise to assess our exposure and we are more or less saying "On payroll or on your bike" ...
