All yours BB. After their formation as a professional club in 1886 they played at no less than 13 home venues - including the London Scottish Rugby Ground, Wormwoods Scrubs, the Kilburn Cricket Ground and the Royal Agricultural Society showgrounds before moving to Loftus Road in 1917 - they later had 2 spells at the White City Stadium before settling finally at Loftus Road permanently in 1963. Over to you.
Cheers cologne - didn't realise it was that many. I knew they had been at White City a couple of times - am sure I saw us play them there in the early 60's - and remember having a laugh about them when told they once played at Wormwood Scrubs. Keeping the football theme - which two clubs were the first to face each other for the 100th time in the Football League?
Cheers BB. The male Grey Timber Wolf has a PSI of around 170, the Cheetah around 350 PSI and the lion around 650 PSI - which mammal has the highest PSI, and what does PSI stand for ?
A couple of years ago I read a discussion on Quora about which animal had the strongest jaws - I think the term used when measuring/comparing was 'bite force', and they were rated in newtons. PSI normally means pounds per square inch, which doesn't make sense to me as 'pounds' aren't a measure of force - so I'm not overly sure what PSI stands for in this instance. The numbers you mention don't ring any bells either - they all sound rather low. What I do remember is that the agreement was that hippos had the strongest bite of all mammals - they were ranked third behind the great white shark and the saltwater crocodile which, of course, aren't mammals. After all that rambling - am I even on the right track?
You are actually there BB. Bite force was/is measured in PSI (pounds of pressure per square inch) - the grey wolf, cheetah and lion don't have very strong bites - compared to us they certainly do but not compared to eg. tigers at 1,050 PSI, gorillas at 1,300 PSI or Jaguars at nearly 2,000. You are right about the hippos - they have the strongest PSI amongst mammals - though exactly why they need it I don't know. Over to you.
Hippos probably need strong bites for protection. They can bite a crocodile in half apparently, and also sprint at up to 30mph. Bit like hornets when faced with liver birds.
Cheers cologne. Whose speech reputedly opened with this line - "Robbers of the world, having by their universal plunder exhausted the land, they rifle the deep."? Extra points if you can include who he/she was talking about in your answer.
Yes to both. Like everything else Tacticus said, it's doubtful that Calgacus said any such thing though.I felt sure someone would say Nicola Sturgeon to BoJo. Over to you.
Thanks, BB. This question is about a former Hornet, a great former Hornet, but I'm not after his name. Blue, Magpie, Imp (on loan), Magpie, Hornet to start his career, but when he left us his career followed the name of which famous singer?
I’ve updated the question. I was unaware there was a loan involved. The player came to us from Notts County.
A stab in the dark here - Rod Stewart? I'm assuming the player is Ian Bolton, who left us for Brentford - I seem to remember a Rod Stewart & Brentford connection...
