Good and bad news here: it was expected to mutate, but not yet; and the use of anti-Aids drugs has been suggested for a few weeks, given it's molecular similarity. If there is an off-the-shelf treatment that can treat, if not cure the virus until a vaccine comes along in a year to eighteen months, then while some vulnerable people will die, unfortunately, we can avoid daubing front doors with crosses and a 'bring out your dead' scenario the doomsters were wishing for.

Which is the reason, that some restaurants/cafes have the custom/etiquette of sending the bill on a small plate. You place your card or cash on the plate, the waiter then carries the plate to the cashier. Hence food handlers/servers and cash handlers are then two different people.
