If there is an off-the-shelf treatment that can treat, if not cure the virus until a vaccine comes along in a year to eighteen months, then while some vulnerable people will die, unfortunately, we can avoid daubing front doors with crosses and a 'bring out your dead' scenario the doomsters were wishing for.
