Like many here my name is self explanitory but will just add that playing right fullback was my first position in a football team way back when teams had inside forwards and wing halves and yes real wingers.

not sure why i'm replying to that mountain dog fella's obvious baiting but Bates didnt "scrap the football club" he "scrapped" the company that owns the football club. Just because a football club changes ownership doesnt make it a new club. Glaziers have changed the co that owns man utd, Liverpool are now owned by a different company i'm sure Hull have changed ownership a number of times and the companies that no longer own the clubs are now defunct - same as us.

oh and writing FACT after a stupid comment doesn't make it true.

Doner kebab (Turkish: döner kebabı) or sometimes döner kebap, lit. 'rotating roast', often shortened to Doner (Turkish: döner), lit. 'turn around',[2] also spelled "doener", "donair", "donar", "doner", or sometimes "donner") is a Turkish dish made of lamb meat (mainly) cooked on a vertical spit and sliced off to order.

Bait or not (it's not BTW), it's good job you replied or you'd have been living in ignorance for a bit longer.

It's not a question of change of ownership, it's a question of having the right to play in the league. Bates transferred all assests, including players, to a new company. That company had no more right to play in the football pyramid than my local school. The part of the club with the right to play in the league had no ground, no players, in fact nothing but the right to play in the league. THe players and remaining club had nothing.

I'm amazed so few of you acknowledge this as it was a matter of much concern and debate at the time he did it, and ran the very real risk of TWS ceasing to exist at all.

Another fine mess, as your namesake says.

PS, I'm aware writing FACT doesn't make things true, that's why I didn't.:emoticon-0111-blush

Why the swastika Erik? Don't you think that's in bad taste?
A lot of people died in this country to eradicate that vile symbol and some on this forum are old enough to have lost relatives in the war.
Do the right thing mate and bring the f***ing Orangutan back.

Just realised my error that it's backwards so it's a hindu symbol and not a nazi swastika. Sorry for any offence Erik, but I'm sure you realised some would make
the same mistake as me so I do still question your motives.

    Do you remember 'K' ?
Came in a black bottle , tasted like paint stripper and got you well and truly mullered .

I was also partial to a Blastaway . Half Diamond White and half Castaway .
Again , it tasted awful , was a bit of a tarts drink but three of those bastards and it was game over .

I tried some Old Rosie the other day. Strongest Cider i've tasted. Mind you the only other Cider i've tried was White Lightning & Strongbow, so i'm not any authority on it.

Think i'll stick to real ale and lager.
