The cost is everything to do with it. He's spent £20+m to watch his biggest rivals to back go back treble with him at the helm. According to his own boss he has £100m team at his disposal and he's failing, regularly, against the likes of Killie and a Derek McInness led Aberdeen side. No amount of celebrating in the cameras after beating Celtic (before handing them the league anyway with terrible managerial decisions) would save him if it weren't for the cost of would take to overhaul it all.

Nope nope nope, sorry Chris you usually speak sense but today isn't one of those days.

Take money out of the equation since we can't afford it apparently, It makes absolutely no sense to sack him, it can't even be on the boards mind to sack him. Wheres the sense in bringing in someone new and overhauling the squad yet again in what will be classed as a must win season? Its too much to expect someone new to come in and hit the ground running and win the league, then when he fails cos he's associated with letting Celtic win 10iar do we just get rid of him too and start the cycle all over again?

After Warbs and Pedro there had to be a long term plan put in place, get someone in and back them, thats Gerrard. Theres definitely the makings of a good team there, we've had enough good results and performances this season to know that. Definitely been let down in the league since the break but Gerrard is still the right man imo.

If money is not in the equation then of course it would make sense to bring in someone better. Someone that Derek McInness doesn't have the better of. Hypothetical but if Brendan Rodgers rocked up at Ibrox on the first day of pre season next year and he goes against Neil Lennon and this Celtic team (assuming no signings for either), He delivers 55. Or gets a lot ****ing closer than Celtic running away with another treble. Gerrard is not a good manager. Why would you not want a better manager in?

I agree with Fabio

Gerrard has improved Sevco domestically and in Europe

Yes, he is a rookie and has no respect for our game if he expects to win a league with Liverpool reserves, but he has done better than THE NEXT JOSE and WARBURTON FUTURE ENGLAND MANAGER

Sevco need to back him harder next year. Anything else is a surrender

Steevee Gee is here for 10iar

Its easy to say stuff like why don't we go get a better manager? Its the same when fans say “we need to go out and spend big money on a striker” without mentioning any names, change doesn't just guarantee success. The obvious question is who do we get? Who is a realistic candidate that would come here knowing the pressure they will be under to stop 10iar?

It was obviously a risk getting Gerrard, a lot of fans seems to be questioning it now but at this stage we need to stick with it now. We can't just keep going through managers and squads every 2-3 years.

You also can't stick with a busted flush just because. For Instance, could you go and try and convince Gio? He's won stuff as a manager, he won stuff as a player including with you, he's current!y out in China. Would it be that hard to convince him to come back to Ibrox/European football? He's certainly a far better manager than Gerrard. Gerrard has been slowly throwing your players one by one under the bus. If he's lost the dressing room, he's not getting it back. The same players you have now might be delighted with a change and start performing to their ability/get played in the correct positions.

Sticking with something that is failing is stupid in everything in life. Sticking with it because the new guy might fail too is mental. He might also succeed. you have 2 years of knowing Gerrard won't.

I just think it seems to be the way in football these days, knee jerk reactions to everything. As I mentioned earlier we get a brilliant comeback win in Europe on Thursday and everyone is amazing then by Sunday Gerrard is for the sack and the players are ****e, football fans are bipolar. Sir Alex wouldn't have lasted 25 games at Man Utd in this day and age nevermind 25+ years. Instant success or you're a failure.

Tbh I think it would be even harder to convince someone with an association with the club to take over as they know how mental it is here. To come here knowing you need to win the league or Celtic win 10iar is a massive pressure.

I get knee-jerk and SAF wouldn't had lasted but football has changed and 2 years is no longer knee-jerk. You get managers sacked after ten games now. SG must be nearing in on/over 100 now and he still doesn't have a clue how to play half the teams in the league. McInnes is tactically inept. He's not hard to figure out. Yet the great Steven Gerrard hasn't managed it with a squad worth 15x ours. I also get fans are fickle but I try to think more sensible than that. The comeback vs Braga doesn't change my mind on him.Great night for Rangers fans there's a good chance it will end up meaning **** up. No different from the 29th Dec in that sense.

And with someone like Gio. Would what he has in the bank not afford him losing 10 if he came in. Odds would be long against him, wouldn't be his fault, fans understand that and like Lampard at Chelsea now, would be afforded more leighway due to what he achieved as a player for your club? Surely better than sticking with Gerrard which he has proved is a guarantee handing them 10IAR?

We are all different and will have different opinions, personally I'm more than happy to stick with Gerrard into next season. Some people will think he's untouchable just cos of who he is, for me its nothing to do with that. I just think I've seen enough over the last 2 years to know he can get this team playing good football and get results. Last few weeks have been a let down but not enough for me to be shouting I want him sacked.
