I reckon it was all a publicity stunt for the Uruguayan people on his run up to the election. As in "look at me, the person of the people", all hosted by the people of Sunderland and SAFC.

Surely if he was going to do that, it'd make more sense for him to do it closer to home? For instance, apart from Peñarol, have you seen the state of most Uruguayan grounds? He could afford to build a couple of new ones of those and boost his profile there much easier.

I'd say he seems to have a lot of opinions about the club rather than he "knows" a lot about the club.

Hes deffo has a negative slant on the club and fans atm since he resurfaced.

I don't think that he is CM but i think he might know him or someone close to him.

He was pro SD until CM resigned as a director and now he's changed his tune a little since he resurfaced

Hmm. All seems a bit conspiracy theories and tinfoil hats to me. Don't see why people can't just accept that it was a case of a bloke and his rich mates fancied buying a football club. Then turns out they weren't that good at it.

We probably won't win the champions league for a few hundred years but I wouldn't be surprised if we do pretty well in the near future. Good manager, decent team and on the cusp of new ownership.

Of course he can. But if you want to give the appearance of being one of the boys and to not show your hand, then typing as he does helps with that facade. The problem is that he tries too hard and it’s very obvious. You would think that for someone with an Eton education that he could do a bit better.
