Yeah I get that and understand but it wasn't the question Com. How can my perception of certain teachings be so different to theirs?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Buddhism more 'fluid' (for want of a better word) than a lot of other religions, in that it's not about following a god as such but finding it inside yourself. If that's the case then it's not surprising that you get such a diverse set of interpretations.


Obviously that's very simplistic and I might be way off but that's always been my basic understanding of it.
