I had a discussion on twitter with a crazy.
He spouted that 4m children live in poverty.
I pointed out that was nonsense. He objected to that.
If everybody's income increased ten times, by the definition he was using, then there would still be 4m children "living in poverty".

I suggested a better approach. That is to define a fixed set of resources, perhaps by defining a set of essentials people need to have in order to have a decent standard of living. Anyone who can’t afford that standard is considered to be in poverty, regardless of what everyone else has.

A non EU citizen due to the likes of Nigel Farage lololz

What can I say? Farage, Boris, that Rees-Mogg creature. Lord Snooty and his ****ing pals just had us over again, like they’ve been doing since 1066.

Centuries of taking orders from ****s like that, makes my fellow countrymen a sucker for a posh spiv. Every ****ing time.

Wow! For once crazy Pete is 100% correct. There aren't 4 million kids living in poverty in Britain.

That 4 million figure was 2017 estimates.

It's probably closer to 5 million now. 40% of children in Britain will be living in poverty by 2021. That's good going for the worlds 5th largest economy.

Not be long now to we are right back to Dickensian levels of ****piggery. Boris and his boys are the ones to takes us there.

Hooray!
