Pleased he gave Saints credit..remember a lot of players don't do that. We're doing great at the moment and have money in the bank for the future. Still think he could have done another year here, if he could get in the team<laugh>. Hope we don't draw Arsenal as it still too raw and I wouldn't like to see a young lad get booed..too soon.

Kissing the badge on your full debut for a team you don't support when you've played and scored agains better teams for your previous club is rather cringeworthty. If he'd been there aa while and scored against a really top team, then fair enough.

I think a few teams were after Lallana when we were in administration and again in January before signinng his new contract. Like others have said though, no-one was offering that we couldn't be competing with in the relatively short term if we played our cards right. It's good to have a player who thinks like that, although I do wonder whether his head could be turned if a really massive and successful club had plans for him. Those teams don't tend to look below the top divisions worldwide, so there's good hope of him staying loyal for a while yet.

Yes i would have the same opinion,Lallana i would put up with because he does love us but if any of our new signings done it i'd be embarrassed,it's not a good thing to do,think it's all load of you know what.

Good riddance, forced a move away from the club, no loyalty to the staff at the club who helped him through, and kissing the badge sums it up. I don’t hate the lad mainly because we don’t really miss him as results have shown, but it would have been fantastic for the fans to see him for a season longer at least. I think he’s burnt his bridges with the fans and wouldn’t blame anyone for booing him if he ever comes to St Marys. Sorry Alex you can’t have it both ways!

The whole 'kissing the badge' thing is hideous, and meaningless. How often have we seen that from a footballer who the following week is asking for a transfer/more money? There are very few players who could convince that they are loyal to a club.
And by the way, there are only 3 teams between Saints and Arsenal in the league.....oh the irony if AOC is playing in a lower league than Saints next year.......

Fair play to him! Nice to give us a mention and although I'm sure he was aware we would pick it up in the media the interview was given to the Arsenal site so it's not like he is ass kissing!

We should never be sour about a 17 year old wanting to triple or quadruple his pay playing for a top prem team! like someone mentioned he was an excellent player not a fan where as I believe someone like Lallana is!

I'm very pleased to have had the opportunity to have seen the likes of Oxo, Walcott, Bale, Bridge etc play in saints colours and go on to be fantastic Internationals, think we are all really lucky to be honest!

I don't have a problem with the badge-kissing pic. For goodness sake, he's a very young lad who has just joined a big club (for a huge fee) and wants to be loved and accepted by the clubs fans. Hence he kisses the badge.

As many have said, the days of one club loyalty are long gone with the amounts of cash floating around. MLT never got more than 9k a week at Saints - do you really think he wouldn't have had his loyalty *stretched* if Spurs had offered 50 or 60k a week ???

Kissing badges bit over top but, as someone else said, we wouldn't mind if it was our badge. He's a young lad who has thanked everyone involved in his development in an interview at his new club. He's also pleased that we are doing well. Blue line moment I think.

Yes he did, but I'm talking about a significant wage hike. He was on the verge of signing for Spurs who he supports. So he supports Spurs and loves Saints - I don't have an issue with that, and just trying to inject some realism into AOC being castigated for that action.

MLT said ages ago that he could have gone elsewhere for more money, but realised that he was happy and what did he need more money for anyway. A lesson for many of us there.

I would mind if a new signing kissed our badge,in this day and age where you know a player would drop a club at any given moment it's a bit stupid to do it.Unless you have been at a club for years and have fallen in love with it or have supported the club all your life i really don't think it's a good look.

True enough and as we all know that level of loyalty is rare. It was his wife (at the time) who blocked the Spurs move though, not him. Either way, not to dwell on that point, I just think that AOC kissing the badge is really not crime of the century, more a young man hoping to be accepted. Good luck to him......

In my eyes the realism is that he is kissing the badge of a club that he has been with for a month, did he ever kiss the saints badge? the club where he has been for 10 years? just find it a bit strange, maybe just for the cameras i suppose.

I'm willing to bet that if a few people attempt to boo him before a match (next season in PL I hope, unless Arsenal get relegated) more fans will applaud him to drown it out. It's never a good idea to wind up a good player before a match.

With regard to Le Tiss, it's probably more to with the fact that at Saints he was a big fish in a small pond (although I hate applying that expression to our dear club!). At Spurs it would have been different. Plus his family were well settled in the area at the time, bit like Kelv when he almost upped sticks and went to West Ham.

As I say, I just think it's the actions of someone wanting to be loved. Arsenal shelled out £12m for him when ALL their fans were screaming out for a big name defender / keeper / striker, so through no fault of his own, he was instantly in a difficult position. Bang a goal in, show your commitment, please the fans and all of a sudden life becomes easier for him. Completely understandable.
