That's the thing. Players pick up injuries, grow a year older or just can't be bothered after winning everything. For every messi theres a ronaldinho. Also players who have clocked up a lot of miles sometimes lose it. Just look at rooney, his body was finished at 28.
They do have the best CB in the world. I agree. I can’t knock their starting 11, confidence, manager, stats etc, but it doesn’t mean I can’t see quality. City have the stronger squad, losing Kompany and not replacing has killed their season.
An injury to Van Dijk would be costly. If Mane gets injured they still have Salah. If Salah gets injured they have Firminho. No one else in that team is irreplaceable.
I’d happily start Marcos Rojo on Sunday so he can end Liverpool’s season in one ****ed up crunch. Make it happen Ole.
City certainly do miss Kompany. I’m sure they’ll be back stronger next season (they’re not exactly weak this season). Maybe Chelsea with a couple of key signings will also be realistic challengers. Anything could happen. Even Man Utd aren’t that far away from being a very good side again. I still think this Liverpool side, with this manager, will be around and winning things for a while yet. And I have no great love for Liverpool. That’s my unbiased view.
