Why can't they ever just say what a good player someone is without comparing them to others. They're always either better than the best players in the same position or they're the next Messi etc.

Liverpool are not understood to be interested in signing Aston Villa star Jack Grealish this January.

The Reds have been linked with the attacking-midfielder in recent weeks following the 24-year-old’s fine run of form.

Despite Villa’s inconsistent form leaving them in the relegation zone, Grealish has stood out for the Midlands club due to his trademark daring runs and his eye for goal.

The former England and Republic of Ireland youth international has notched up eight goals this season in all competitions from central-midfield.

However, the Liverpool Echo claim that the Reds do not have him on their radar as a potential signing.

Its journalism at its sh!ttest. Someone said he would walk into our team, so someone writes an article that we are interested, just so they can write an article that we are not interested.

I've said before - it's an insult to real journalism to put most sports hacks in the same category. Apart from a handful of decent ones they just write any old drivel to fill up space.
There are worse creatures out there of course, there's the moral bankrupts who write inflammatory and divisive articles for the S*n and the Mail and other anti-social rags.
They don't deserve association with people who risk their lives reporting on war zones, or risk their freedom and livelihood shining a light into the murky recesses of corporate and political corruption.
I rarely read newspapers (hard copy or online versions) these days because the standard is so abysmal. I probably get most exposure from foolishly clicking on Dribs' seemingly endless supply of links. :)

Koulibaly supposedly off to United at end of year
Great signing for them if that’s true - proper respect for that guy
Immense defender imho - wish we had gone for him but he would have to be back up to Virg not sure that’s fair to him

I blame the yanks <grr>

They were both quality tbf (although Torres had started to decline)
Torres was well in decline hence the comparison. He signed a rag tag collection of players for Chelsea (David Luiz in his prime stands out) most of which have disappeared. Maybe they weren't his choices and maybe the same will happen at Everton who have a dof involved in identifying prospects.

(My comment was meant to be a bit of a joke. Everton under their 3 previous managers signed anything that moved making it look like a club strategy and not any particular manager's strategy)
