I really hope Bournemouth survive. Some of their fans can be a bit petty but they are a good club and have done wonders staying in the PL for so long. The PL will be all the poorer if they do drop. There are a lot of other teams I would like to see go before Bournemouth. Others might not agree, but they at least try to play decent football and do turn over some of the bigger clubs from time to time.

If we're talking about sides who we'd like to see go down or stay up, surely the vast majority of fans would happily pick Burnley as one of their three choices for the drop?

Yep definitely. To be honest I couldn't give a flying **** who it is as long as it's not us. I support Saints and that's it.

    Come on Sheff Utd.,
There's an apple-cart that needs some attention.

Unfortunately, it looks like the apples are still firmly in the cart.

Edit; Just seen that Sheff Utd are only four points above us. Come on the 'pool.

We play Burnley in Feb, along with Villa and West Ham. All in succession. It's the claret-and-blue month.

Has Rodwell been a footballer since he left Everton?

I'd have sold them a fence post for a tenner.

I wouldn't be crying about Wesley - signing a striker this month was already a priority for them - but losing Heaton is a massive blow for them. Even more so when Steer is already out himself for the season. So it's either bring someone in on loan, or play the rest of the season with their 3rd choice keeper.

The injury charts on the bbc page are interesting. We apparently suffered four, the same as Villa. But one of ours was nothing to do with fatigue, more to do with misjudging a table leg. Shane's knee injury was a knock & Moussa, well he was due a game off with some illness! So for me, the chart is rather misleading. When you look a little further you will also find that JWP put in some of the most mileage over this period, and didn't have a break. Often the one's moaning the most don't manage their squads well, and don't trust youngsters to come in and do a job. We've had to be brave in the past, and I think Ralph deserves a lot of credit for how he has navigated this festive period.

Flights and accommodation booked for our next visit to Soton to visit our grand daughter, weekend of 15 Feb - oh, and Saints are at home again. What a coincidence !

I'm not even sure who'd be available if they wanted a battle-tested loan keeper. Lee Grant, maybe?

Aston Villa could move for Burnley's former England goalkeeper Joe Hart, 32. (Mail)

Surprised they've allowed Sheffield United and West Ham to be Friday night. Lot of blades still very bitter about the Tevez saga. No trains home for the Hammers either.
