Contact lens are the way to go. Go for the all day (the ones you can sleep in) been using for last 10 years and wished I'd started earlier. Major improvement on the round pink things I had to wear in the 50's
I was wary about Specsavers first time I had to have glasses, so went to Donald and Aitchison (this was in Salisbury). Very thorough eye test. I new this as had received eye tests previously for safety specs and laser use from various places. I actually found Specsavers eye test to be similar (and use them at present) but mistakes can happen. If your not getting anywhere with Specsavers Customer Service (and you should), then pick a local optician and get it all checked. You only have one set of eyes!
To be fair they are trying to be helpful , it’s just whoever you speak too in the same place gives completely contrasting opinion . Spoke to 2 of them who said , it’s normal you can have headaches for 1-2 weeks, don’t worry . Then when I popped in and spoke to a different bloke , he just bluntly said it’s not usual to have headaches . Not one for going over the top but one of them needs firing
Have worn glasses then contact lenses then glasses again for 60 years, they've never caused a headache. Wife and daughter both wear glasses, no headaches. I think you need to see a different optician.
Going in to see them so they can check the lenses , then if no improvement I’m going to try elsewhere - I only went there as I had a voucher from work . I’m also wondering if my frames are too heavy , they really do grip behind my ears and apply a lot of pressure . My dad wears really light thin frames and you can barely feel them on .
I've got good news and bad news for you. I will start with the bad news......your symptoms conclusively indicate that you are dying. No cure & no relief...you've got two months to live and you will suffer excruciating agony throughout. The good news is that I have a new volouptuous girlfriend and we are in the throes of a torrid lustful romance.
It’s a good job whenever I get a reply , I don’t think maybe some helpful advice, if I thought that it would be really crushing whenever it’s just a joke
Basically post something on here about your personal life but don’t expect any help with it And you better be able to laugh at yourself

You need to see an optician to see if your prescription is right. Then check the lenses to see they are correct. Go to Specsavers and insist on seeing the optician. If they wont let you, go elsewhere for a test.
See what you've done, DJ (sic). You thought you could ask a simple question about your dodgy eyesight and all hell breaks loose
Just been in ; to be fair tried to be quite helpful again ,they checked my lenses were correct , adjusted the frames so they don’t seem to dig into the side of my head as much , going to see how it goes . Once again, Got contradictory advice on when I should wear them , but I cheekily nipped into the opticians next door and spoke to them of my frustration and they gave me some free advice , which I thought was good considering not their customer so I am going to follow their advice first , And going to see how these adjustments pan out
A few months ago I noticed that my wife wasn't reading as much as usual and she confessed that she was struggling to focus on the pages and she was getting headaches. As she point blank refuses to visit a doctor, let alone an optician, I went on ebay and found the cheapest reading glasses I could and ordered six pairs of varying strength. I had hoped to give her different strengths without her knowing which pair were which and test her all scientific like, but when I got back from work the little bugger had already opened the parcel and was sat reading with the lowest strength (+1.00). She couldn't focus with the next level up, +1.50, so she stuck with the +1.00 and regularly uses them to read and watch TV. Essentially, what I'm saying is, if anybody wants any reading glasses (+2.00, +2.50, +3.00 or +3.50) drop me a PM and I'll happily send them to you. For Christmas or something.
