I hope that all has gone well Fez, and your wife has a speedy recovery.

It is raining again in rural France, windy as well. Many of the things I wish to do are on hold until it dries up a bit, but the forecast suggests it will be the middle of next week before that happens. Let us hope for an unexpected result today, although I would not put money on it. Have a good day one and all.

Unfortunately I was catching up on my sleep & sobering up after our traditional election night sleepover at my mates (who voted SNP). Unfortunately/fortunately the next sleep over will be in 5 years time.

Just come back from my bank that has entered into the seasonal spirit. Chocolate biscuits for the regulars brought out from behind the counter. They didn't stretch to a glass of mulled wine however.

Morning all. It is raining again and because of the cloud cover seems very dark. Off for my monthly dinner, so a minimal breakfast to start the day. The food bank that we support asks for small gifts of chocolate goodies to give to children at Christmas. The supermarkets are groaning with the quantity of it on sale, so it is easy to buy some bits for the kids who will find it tough at this time of year. Family breakdowns are the real problem here, and it cannot be helped with the pressure of trying to celebrate when you have little money. Still every little helps we all hope. Enjoy your day whatever you are doing, with a special thought for Dave and Mrs. Fez. :emoticon-0100-smile

Mrs Fez is home. So far so good. We await the biopsy result on the lymph node but excision surgery didn't necessitate removal at this stage. Blood thinning injections required, self administered<yikes>. BP a bit low but we've taken advice on that. Hopeful.

Obliged for the warm wishes folks.

I had to have the injections after my Achilles tendon was sewn back together, but the district nurse came in each morning to do it. She also took off some blood each week to the lab to make sure that they weren't making it too thin. Over the six weeks I was in plaster I came to know her quite well, and discovered that having dealt with us humans in the mornings, she dashed off home to tend to her herd of pigs. Only twice did I actually feel the needle go in, and when I winced she complained about the cheap ones that are brought in from China. I still see her from time to time as she goes about tending to people, and when she finds time we have a chat. Very nice lady, but I wouldn't have minded not getting to know her.

Morning all. Dry and very mild for the time of year. At last I should be able to get down the fields and bring up some more logs. I have mended the puncture in the wheelbarrow wheel, so should be able to use my larger one again. Big turn out for our last monthly dinner of 2019 yesterday, only two regulars failed to make it, so 22 of us took over half of the auberge. The owners were grateful for our support throughout the year, giving everyone champagne on the house. Many decent restaurants out here are finding it difficult competing with the chains that offer reasonable food at a lower price, but fortunately there are few that offer dreadful stuff at very cheap prices.
Enjoy your day whatever you must do. <ok>
