Has there ever been a prime minister who lost his seat. BBC just announced the Tories are going to have a majority according to exit poll.

Exit polls are harder than regular polls even, because you get self-selection bias...some demos are far more willing to talk about their vote than others, and you have difficulty modelling turnout.

But that's such a huge majority that it doesn't matter. Boris ran as the avatar of Brexit, and monopolized that vote. Without a similar avatar for not-Brexit, the vote on the other side did not coalesce in the same fashion.

So that's Europe done. Now, about the Union...
 
I thought this would happen, but the hope of the high turn out today built me up.

Corbyn was hated by the vast majority. I am truly gutted.
 
Knew this was coming. "I've always voted Labour, but I'm voting Tory to Get Brexit Done" is something I've heard over and over. So bollocks. You get what you vote for, and why should I worry? I'm alright. Isn't that the 2020 mantra?

If Anton wins Strictly I am emigrating. Never trust the great British Public <laugh>

Its hard to believe how many people just voted themselves into being worse off. But, I've been hearing this for a while now, the most least likely Tory voters jumping on the brexit vote. Watch their faces when he doesn't get it done at the next junction. What a mess.

On the plus side a virtually total wipeout for the SNP north of the border. It just shows what a sensible left wing party can achieve.
 
All those on the left should now get behind the Scots in their fight for Independence. A couple of million English socialists could make a brilliant fifth column.
