Something that has sustained and entertained people for over 100 years is dying on its feet.
As we've seen at Sunderland recently, as much is said about finances as actual football, which isn't really the point.
Football is the worst example of making something worse by 'improving it' and the naive joy that we felt in the days before Sky, insane wages and a massive chasm between players and fans is slowly being strangled.
