Unions are people and they are only as good as its people (sometimes that can be just how good your rep or direct contact is).

They should, and largely do, give you bargaining power as a collective, which is invaluable.

It's a sorry state of affairs when any worker feels alienated from a union.

    Yeah I wouldn't totally disagree here !
Went to a tribunal in Leeds in the early part of the century and our union rep basically rolled over had his belly tickled and lost us our holiday entitlement !
    Dropped out after that .

The last line is spot on, anyway I thought we had all agreed education is not a good measure of a politicians worth.

Yes, grade E was the lowest possible passing grade. The clue is the word "passing".

A union rep wouldn’t represent you at a tribunal.
Put some more meat on them bones
As what you just posted didn’t happen

I'm seeing that unless you have a degree or vocational qually you don't get an interview if you're starting out now, unless you do a bottom feeder job.

Some kids think they can buck the system and come in with an MBA or MSC and avoid years of toil. That won't work either, as no relevant work experience means you are a drifter/not committed.

It gets steeper and steeper every year for young kids coming up in terms of entry level.

Leaving aside his lack of high level education or his 'modest; intelligence, Corbyn is an ageing introvert bereft of charisma or charm.

Unsuited to the role, a successor will be being lined up as we speak.

The last time I went to a tribunal I turned up with a reusable Tesco bag full of documents pertaining to my case. The company employed barristers and advocates(earning circa £3k a day). The case cost that company £70,000 in legal fees alone,I won.

So,relevant to some of the conversation on here, there is a lot of truth in the fact that education and qualifications don't always win the day and as such,I don't pay a lot of attention to Corbyn or Johnson's exam results

We worked for a Leeds construction firm in 2001 .
At the end of the contract they didn't pay us our last week's wages which was over £500 each .
We where also supposed to get the holiday entitlement for the 2 months we work for them .
We went to the tribunal at a meeting room in Leeds .
We met the union rep from Leeds who represented us as our one from Hull couldn't make it !
All we ended up getting was part of our weeks wages !
BTW ! This did happen .
If you'd worked in the construction trade at this time you would know about it !

Most politicians have degrees these days just like most professions: ie. show you can concentrate, absorb and understand knowledge, apply it and demonstrate your ability to analyse problems effectively and generate solutions, often under pressure.

Degrees are one of the readily available methods of gauging this. .

I didn’t say it will. I said it was what I voted for. It’s just my opinion that we are better out of this massively expanded European state.
